honorable mention in the hall of unrequited loves danik, as well as yet another instance in the continual infamy of institutions sucking. laughs...

on the topic of hawthorne, I like the name "hester." she's also the heroine in the mortal engines movie, the books of which id like to find!

seven story mountain by Thomas merton who was a Franciscan author/theologian locally famous by his time spent at the local university, st. Bonaventure. I believe that particular book was written while he was here.

Hester is a beautiful name, bounty, but I have mixed feelings about "The Scarlet Letter". Itīs a harsh book that denounces harsh usages. I'm wondering was itīs reception is in the age of "me too".
@ tailor-That title makes me curious.

I think a pretty nifty scholarly literary venture would be take an old book, and then study how the book is critiqued from generation to generation over a couple hundred years. the scarlet letter would be a good one for that.

the mammoth book of vampire stories by women by bunches of women edited by Stephen jones.

I have a theory that all women love vampires.

    Yes, it would.

I donīt think all women love vampires, but there are also vampire women as there are men.

the time machine by hg wells. I recently watched the newest version of the movie and found it enjoyable. I liked the first half better than the second half, but id say the movies worth watching.
