two black cadillacs by carrie underwood, one of a small handful of "revenge" songs by her. its interesting to me, in so much as I can tell anyhow, that no one ever decries them. same with books, and movies too.

Thanks, bounty, I'll listen to all of them. But it will be difficult to displace my beloved Joan Baez.

i think my favorite of the bunch danik is the instrumental by the eagles. followed by Kimberly nichole's version. if you hunt up the ones from "the voice" make sure you get the live versions. the studio ones are never as good.
if I had to guess, id say that most cover versions of moon river are probably very close to the original. in this instance, the house of the rising sun covers are all pretty different from the original, in some cases wildly so.

Just listened to some renderings of The House of the Rising Sun. They are all interesting but Joan´s is the most dramatic.
