    Are Your Eyes Open Tonight?

The stars shimmer, the moon shines as if only to shine upon you.
But are your eyes open tonight?
I watch you, staring into the cold night air to see you.
But your eyes are not open tonight...

See me, open them so I may never forget their touch on me.
But your eyes aren't open tonight...
And I fear that one day they will close forever.
I fear I will forget their touch.

Open your eyes, open your eyes one last time.
I must see them, I must remember.
Remember their blue, remember them from the many times I have looked in them.
Open them one last time, so I shall never forget...
What your eyes look like in the night.
To say that literature is dying is to say that the world is dying.

" 'The most important part of poetry is structure!' one student answers. ' No! The most important part of poetry is sound.' Another retorts. 'No! The most important part of poetry is rhyme!' says the last. 'No!" Says the teacher, ' The most important part of poetry is the meaning, no structure, nor sound nor rhyme alone can define poetry, combine them all and you get meaning.'

    To Hold Back These Tears...

I hold tightly to your hand, gripping so I may not let you pass.
But I feel your skin grow cold, see your eyes glaze and hear your voice quiver...

"I'm afraid..." you said to me that night.

I merely shook my head as I could not stand the sight of you then.
Not that I loathed you, no. I loved you and I wished merely to cradle you once more.
Because to hold back these tears was worse than Hell itself.
I loved you and wished merely to kiss your lips one more time.

I hold tightly to your hand, gripping so I may squeeze death's hand away.
But I feel the clammy flesh and the stone of the dead upon your arms.

"Rose...?" I ask you, but they fall on dead ears this night.

I hold tightly to your hand, gripping so I may not let these tears past.
Because to hold back these tears was worse than Death itself...

(Found this one while rummaging through old poetry, enjoy!)

(And PS You're in Florida too!)
If it's worth complaining about, it's completely worth doing yourself!

    Dance With Me...

Dance with me, dance in this light.
    Dance to your hearts delight.
Feel the burn of the fire,
    The fire within your legs.

Dance with the fire in your legs,
Until your feet can barely tread.
Dance with me, Dance in this light.
    Dance to your hearts delight.

My heart is my beat, care to dance to it?
Such a beat should be danced to, especially by you.
For this beat is meant for you.
The beat of my heart is meant for you and no one else...

( I'm glad you enjoy my poetry anza)

This one is still really awesome, but I think that the syllables aren't as flowy as the others. 9/10
