LET THERE BE LIGHT
"That day I shall always recollect with grief; with reverence also, for the gods so willed it." - Virgil, The Aeneid (V, 49)
Distracted from distraction by distraction
9.5/10 I LOVE the picture!
Ethel Mertz: Gee, this high altitude sure gives me an appetite.
Fred Mertz: What's your excuse at sea level?
Fred Mertz: Now what are we supposed to do? Thumb a ride on a passing halibut?
Ricky Ricardo: I can't afford it.
Lucy Ricardo: Those must have been the first English words you learned.
10/10. For the Doctor? Always![]()
"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings."
I like the way it sounds9.7/10..

"The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function. One should, for example, be able to see that things are hopeless and yet be determined to make them otherwise."
-- F. Scott Fitzgerald
7/10....
Pitiful creatur of darkness,
What kind of world have you known?
God give me courage to guide me,
You are not alone.
The first one is definitely cool. Where did you get it from? Did you come up with it on your own? 'cause if you did I would be very impressed ... but even if you didn't it's still awesome. 1000/10

Pitiful creatur of darkness,
What kind of world have you known?

I just want you all to know that I looked at this thread and the "describe Pam in one word" thread yesterday and wondered "Who IS Pam, anyway?"
Duh.
Well, Shurtugal, I like both of your signature quotes a lot. I really ought to paste the first one to my bedroom ceiling so it's the first thing I see when I wake up.
The second one is exactly what someone from Neverland would think. Also a Buddhist monk. So kudos and an overall 9/10. (I'm docking you a point because that first one is way too good to be in such small, pale letters.)
I know mine is pretty simple. And it's not even exactly what Kierkegaard actually said, only a popular paraphrase. But go ahead, someone, rate away. I'm going to come up with another one eventually.
Life is lived forward
and understood backward
9/10 I like it.
I once knew someone
Who carved my name on stone
So that the tides of time
Couldn't wear it off
8.5/10
slightly depressing but really pretty.
Pitiful creatur of darkness,
What kind of world have you known?
God give me courage to guide me,
You are not alone.
I like it. 7/10.
I sang of leaves, of leaves of gold, and leaves of gold there grew.
7/10...
Pitiful creatur of darkness,
What kind of world have you known?
God give me courage to guide me,
You are not alone.
