A conventional Comedy of Romance has a happy end. After all action and absurdity, there is a happy union, possibly with the ringing of the marriage bell. But this does rig out all the doubts and distractions in the new life of the happy couple, but rather brings in more and more. The sequel suggests the same, anticipates what is to follow. Eliza may marry Freddy. This is a guess-work, probably a right one. But how the two are to row the boat of life in a tumultuous sea of reality. This is nothing less thrilling than the romance of their meeting and mating. Of course, this is all imagination, and nothing of action. Yet, it is a rare originality, and here is seen the triumph of the Shavian dramatic artistry.
