Angus, Thongs And Full-Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison

This was not a book I would pick up from the library if it were not on the BBC's Big Read.

This is a story about Georgia Nicolson, who shares her experiences as a teenage girl as she goes through the pains of growing up. It is mostly told with a humourous attitude but having read The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged Thirteen and Three Quarters by Sue Townsend not so long ago, I was not as impressed as I could have been otherwise. Rennison's story reminds Townend's so much that (apart from the gender difference between the main characters) as a reader I felt almost bored while reading (that and also the fact I was 25 years too late to read the book, maybe). To make things worse, Georgina does not possess any of Adrian's charm.

Even though it might be entertaining for the younger readers, I was far from impressed in general.
