    Emma

    Hello,

I am new to the Literature Network Forums and have chosen this particular sub forum to introduce myself because Emma is what I am reading and re-reading now. I think Emma is a good balance between the overconfident feminist and the simpering beauty queen. I invite your thoughts on her....

I think Emma is the classical main character that writers like Jane Austen try to portray. To me she is quite similar in some aspects to Jo March (from Little Women), but I may find Emma more 'realistic' since she has more temper and character than Jo. I really like her, and to me 'Emma' is a book to read over and over again. This is one of my favourites written by Austen, and one of my favourites of my whole collection of books
