    Debate: Literature

We all know that the book we are reading and the poem we are writing are both literature, but what is it, really?

If leaflets (campaign literature) are considered such, then its only a tag of reference. But when I hear literature, I think literary art and I have a standard for that. I believe the author of such should be always attempting to progress the medium and the subject.
