If you work in a restaurant around a hot grease vat, when time comes to change the oil, make sure the other person isn't clumsy, or slippery fingered!

(Nearly got both feet roasted because my helper let his thumb slip into the hot oil!)

    Two..the hard way!

If in an auto accident, and you do a roll in your truck, 1 1/4 times..... down a ravine and into a small stream.....
    Wear your Seatbelt

If in a housefire....don't open the door that feels hot....there's a reason it feels that way...and if you see the flames roll across the ceiling like in the movies...you don't want to be there.....take my word on this....things melt and burst into flame.......

Doctors tell you what they want you to know. They don't always tell you what you need to know, or answer your question.

Things I have learned the hard way:

NEVER say "yes" without setting limits first.
Enjoy what you have as long as you have it.
Don't eat so many green apples.
Listen to your mother even if you don't heed what she says because it will all come in handy when you have children of your own.

    1) It is really important to cook chicken before you put it in a casserole because it will NOT get thoroughly cooked otherwise.

    2) Raw chicken will make you sick

    My lesson:

YOU are the only person that you can truly count on.
Everyone else (family & friends included) can easily disappear when you need them the most.

    Don't pry!

Mothers always don't understand as you expect them to!

Don't spoil your sleeping routine by sleeping late at night because if once you get accustomed to it, it gets really difficult to leave this habit beside!

Don't try and be funny by jumping on a rock in front of Sportsman's...it leads to a flip and a thump.

Don't argue with people who think they are always right, no matter how hard you try and all the facts you've got. It makes you sleepy.

Don't argue with policemen...not trying to be offending or anything.

Don't think your best friend will take your side over her/his boy/girlfriend.

Don't stare...it tends to creep people out.

if you try to fake a personality, don't decide to switch from the quiet one in the corner to the one who is in on the action, tends to confuse people and they tend to make fun of you for it.

never try to fake an accent to a person you don't know who has the accent you are trying to fake

very true, that's why you should truly trust no one with your secrets

Don't leave a pair of scissors next to your unguarded science project. Especially if you have mischievious house gnomes/siblings/friends.

So you want the story, Bib? It didn't happen to me, but to my oldest son, now 18. He gets pulled over for speeding, going 51 in a 45. The law here in Virginia states that you must be doing 60 in a 45 to get reckless driving, otherwise, it's simple speeding. As the policeman is talking to my son, and thinking of letting him off with a warning, my son, who is driving my truck, a four cylinder Chevy tells the policeman out of the blue that he knows from personal experience my truck will do 90. The policeman blew his stack, wrote the ticket, followed the kid home, got us out of bed, and reported his remarks to us. At the time he was still underage, and we could and did take his licence to drive. That remark was also repeated in court, and the judge fined him the max. It pays to know when to shut up!
