that's a neat story Jackie, I mean Sancho.

just to clarify though, all the prisoners I was writing to HAD libraries in their facilities, its just that the libraries were all closed down. it boggles my mind how the administration couldn't/didn't go round with a large list saying, "pick one, we'll bring it to you."

I love your kindle idea though.

I wrote this elsewhere in the forum---this past summer I started donating books to a charity called "books through bars." they collect books, an inmate writes them and says something like "I want a mystery" and the charity will look through what they have and send the inmate a mystery.

the charity particularly solicits educational type books, but I hardly ever come across those so I haven't sent any. but tomorrow my local library is going to give me a free bag of books to send to them so maybe i'll find some there.

ps. you put the balm on? who told you to put the balm on? I didn't say to put the balm on. why'd you put the balm on?

pps: oh and by the way, they're real, and they're spectacular, part II

ironically, that actually might have been one of the positive aspects of the show---so many memorable characters remained memorable in large part because they were only there so fleetingly.

Oh yeah, I’ll bet Miss Murdstone had man hands.

The quote (or at least the paraphrase) is from the TV show Seinfeld.
    Uhhhh...

If the ancient Greeks used Homer as a guide for acceptable behavior, a whole generation of us used Seinfeld:

    — Did you just double dip that chip!?

    — He’s not sponge worthy.

And of course there’s shrinkage, significant shrinkage, like a frightened turtle:

I don’t how you guys walk around with those things

I was in the pool! I was in the pool!

so many good ones, although, i don't know if anything beats "no soup you for!"

danik, here's a YouTube channel with lots of clips if you are interested

    to answer elaines question:

(I had to compress the file for it to fit. unfortunately the attachment will have to be saved as a file and enlarged in order to see the dialog and even then its going to be blurry. hope the efforts worth it)
