that's a neat story Jackie, I mean Sancho.
just to clarify though, all the prisoners I was writing to HAD libraries in their facilities, its just that the libraries were all closed down. it boggles my mind how the administration couldn't/didn't go round with a large list saying, "pick one, we'll bring it to you."
I love your kindle idea though.
I wrote this elsewhere in the forum---this past summer I started donating books to a charity called "books through bars." they collect books, an inmate writes them and says something like "I want a mystery" and the charity will look through what they have and send the inmate a mystery.
the charity particularly solicits educational type books, but I hardly ever come across those so I haven't sent any. but tomorrow my local library is going to give me a free bag of books to send to them so maybe i'll find some there.
ps. you put the balm on? who told you to put the balm on? I didn't say to put the balm on. why'd you put the balm on?
pps: oh and by the way, they're real, and they're spectacular, part II
