    Haiku Error Messages

Not really sure where the appropriate place to post these would be....

(doubt that it's true, but these are excellent)

In Japan, they have replaced the impersonal and unhelpful Microsoft error messages with their own Japanese haiku poetry, each only 17 syllables, 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second, and 5 in the third.

    Oh, a file that big?
    It might be very useful.
    But now it is gone.

    The Web site you seek
    Cannot be located but
    Countless more exist.

    Chaos reigns within.
    Reflect, repent, and reboot.
    Order shall return.

    Aborted effort:
Close all that you have worked on.
    You ask far too much.

    Windows NT crashed.
I am the Blue Screen of Death.
    No one hears your screams.

    Yesterday it worked.
    Today it is not working.
    Windows is like that.

    First snow, then silence.
    This thousand dollar screen dies
    So beautifully.

    With searching comes loss
    And the presence of absence:
    Your novel? not found.

    The Tao that is seen
Is not the true Tao until
    You bring fresh toner.

    Stay the patient course.
Of little worth is your ire.
    The network is down.

    A crash reduces
    Your expensive computer
    To a simple stone.

    Three things are certain:
    Death, taxes, and lost data.
    Guess which has occurred.

    You step in the stream,
But the water has moved on.
    This page is not here.

    Out of memory.
We wish to hold the whole sky,
    But we never will.

    Having been erased,
    The document you're seeking
    Must now be retyped.

    Serious error.
    All shortcuts have disappeared.
    Screen. Mind. Both are blank.

    Hope those made you smile.

that's great, I hope that it's true.. It kind of reminds me of the yahoo! beta messenger messages that pop up during chat...along these lines..."so and so's keyboard is being commandeered by a thousand stinky monkeys! or prepare to be astounded, so and so is writing something incredibly profound!" brings a little humor and humanity to cold technology.
"Don't matter who they are, anybody sets foot in this house, they are company and don't let me catch you remarking on their ways like you were so high and mighty."

I sang of leaves, of leaves of gold, and leaves of gold there grew.

not true according to snopes.com. but they're funny. I want my computer to speak in poetry. it would be much better than clippy.

    I especially like this one:
    The Web site you seek
    Cannot be located but
    Countless more exist.
