there was a time when a new member came online and asked a bunch of questions that were fairly difficult to understand and non-specific (if i remember correctly) and Kik's only reply was "wow". his post was deleted by a mod and there was a brief but very warm battle over censorship in the forum. i was mostly just kidding, but i am always more careful what i reply with since that.

Oh, thanks verybadmom! I had a look at that link and got relief. I'm walking here with fear that someone can laugh at my English. The fact that it's forbidden here made me glad. Thanks to ADMIN and to others who put up with mistakes of foreigners

Hehe Yeah, Kik wasn't laughing at their English, though, Ravana. There are plenty of people here for whom English isn't their first language, but no one (I don't anyway) thinks twice about it. We're all just here talking and having fun. Don't worry about it.

Thanks, em! I don't know the reason but you seemed me a little abrupt, so hearing this from you is really great for me.

Ravana, Em's sense of humor is fast and at times dry, but always to be taken with a grain of salt. her heart is big and warm and always kind (so far as i can see), so never ever take her comments as a personal poke in the ribs. there is little offense to be taken here, as i think that everyone here is accepting and friendly. if there is a comment made that can be taken in more than one way, take it in the nicest possible way. subtleties, sarcasm and dry wit abound here....

as far as language barriers..there are none: if you are not understood someone will ask for clarification. for the most part i hear the posts as though they are spoken, and for fun i like to add little accents. having people from all backgrounds adds a depth to this forum that is missing on many others.
Then we sat on the edge of the earth, with our feet dangling over the side, and marvelled that we had found each other.

Thanks, v.b.mom! (this is 4th one, I see I'm getting annoying with my "thanks") It's very nice of you.

Of course I will never do. So I wrote in past tense: seemed.

Amuse once helped me with my diificulty. I think it's better for us if you'll correct us.
I like tihis forum. In addition to enjoy literature talks, I'm improving my English by your writings.

Ooh, compliments for me. Thanks VBM. Hehe.

I'm glad you don't think I'm abrupt anymore, Ravana. But again, don't worry, you're not the only one to be perplexed or unnerved by my sense of humor. I have an awful habit of putting my foot in my mouth every time I open it.
