    Happy Birthday, Mona Amon!

    Happy Birthday, Mona!

    An interview with Mona Amon:

*Why are we doing this interview thing?*
Because it's that time of the year again, LOL

    *Who killed Roger Rabbit?*
    The butler?

    *So, how old are you?*
    48

*If you had a personal theme song what would it be?*
Mrs Robinson? Though I'm not like her at all

*Are you male or female? *
    female

*What makes you keep coming back to the Forum?*
I'm mostly a lurker. I keep coming back to read the interesting discussions.

*Are you happy with the way things are here?*
Yes, I think this is an excellent forum.

*What was the inspiration for your LitNet username?*
It's a long and silly story. After reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, I fell in love with Severus Snape and shortly after that my son used to watch an anime series called Witch Hunter Robin. One of the characters, Amon (that's him in my avatar), reminded me of a young Severus Snape, and Amon is also an anagram of my name, so...

Should JBI get an + beside his name?
What does a + do? Anyway, I'll say yes.

    *Which countries have you visited?*
    Only the US.

    *Which languages do you speak?*
    Tamil and English

*How do you like your home town?*
I've lived here in Chennai for the past 20 years or so. It's not ideal, but I've grown to love it, and will definitely miss it if I have to relocate.

*If you could live somewhere different, where would it be and why?* The English countryside. So beautiful! (from what I've seen of it in movies and from descriptions in books)

    *Do you have any pets?*
    Some goldfish.

    *What makes you happy?*
Being with friends and family, lying in bed reading a good book, many things.

*Would you choose a desperate Hope or an unknown Faith?*
Not sure I understood, LOL. I'll go with desperate hope.

*Do you feel comfortable in your walk with God/atheism? *
Not really, I guess. I don't know if I have as much as I'm supposed to. I'll have to be 'saved by works' and I haven't done any.

*Which actor should play you in a movie based on your life?*
    umm.. I'll choose Angelina Jolie

    Who is your favourite Beatle?
    Paul Mcartney

*How do you like your coffee? *
Hot, strong, in a large mug with milk and one tsp.of sugar.

*Given the option, what animal would you choose to be?*
    A bird of some sort

*What's the biggest fish you've ever caught?*
I dont have any fishing stories, LOL

*How did you meet your significant other?*
    arranged marriage

    *Who inspires you most?*
    Courageous, outspoken, extrovert types.

*What are you naturally good at? (Skills, abilities, gifts etc.)*
I'm good at a lot of things and master of none.

*What is the one thing you must do before you die?*
I'd really like to do some paid work, outside the home.

*If you had to teach something, what would you teach?*
    English

*What would you regret not fully doing, being or having in your life?*
I regret not teaching, and wasting my Master's degree.

*If you were to be stuck at a particular time in your life, which one would you choose and why?*
Dunno, I'm not one for being stuck in the past, though I've had some good times. I'm enjoying the present and looking forward to the future.

*Do you get tired living life?*
    Not yet.

*What method do you cherish above all others, as means to improving your life?*
Live one day at a time, I guess. I'm not so good at these sort of questions.

*What one thing would you NEED to have on a deserted island if you didn't have to worry over food and water? *
If it's things we're talking about rather than people, I'd like to have a treasure chest full of good books.

*If you were a king/queen for a day, what would you do?* Umm...order everyone about, LOL.

*Which book are you reading at the moment?*
    Trainspotting

    *What is your favourite quote?*
    Reader, I married him.

    *Favorite avatar on the Forum?*
    Have to think about this.

    *Favorite threads?*
    Name the Painting

    What's your favorite sandwich?
    Ham

*What are you wearing at the moment?*
    My nightie. **sheepish**

    *Favorite poem?*
Have to think about it some more... OK, psalm 23

*First novel you remember reading on your own?*
    Jane Eyre

*What era do you find most of the books you read are from?*
    Nineteenth century

*What do you do (for a living) to be able to keep your LitNet addiction going? And are you happy with your chosen profession?*
I'm a housewife. Hubby's a doctor and provides all the cash.

*If you could change one thing about the way you look, what would that be?*
I'd like to get rid of the frown lines, the moles, the extra weight...anything that wasn't there ten years back.

*Which book do you wish you had written?*
    Umm... there are many.

*What book would you recommend to others of all types and ages as a must read?*
    Harry Potter

*What should you be doing at the moment instead of answering these questions?*
The list is quite long, LOL

    *Describe your ideal day, please.*
Right now I'll go for curled up in bed all day with a really good book and someone else providing the meals

    *Favorite movie?*
    haven't yet decided.

    *Last movie you watched?
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

*How are you going to pick just one favourite painting?*
Totally impossible. There are so many. That's why I have'nt picked any.

*If you could send one thing to the Room 101, one would that be?* Corruption (Hope I understood the question. It's some 30 years since I read 1984)

*Are you mostly happy with life or are you still in pursuit?*
    Mostly happy.

Tell us something scandalous about yourself.
Sorry, I lead a boringly blameless life.

*How long did it take you to answer all of these questions?*
Too long. I skipped a lot of questions towars the end

*One final word of wisdom for LitNet users?*
    Don't worry, be happy

*What question would you like to ask to the person to be interview after you?
    Which country are you from?

    .

    Happy birthday Mona !
I enjoyed the interview. Harry Potter was quite popular in our home since my son grew up in the Potter generation. He read the entire series.

Many many happy returns of the day.
Great interview. What a coincidence! Both you and MaryD recommend Harry Potter. I too agree that presently it is the series which both children and adults can enjoy.
