Hardworking otherwise I would get too bored!

Definitely hard working - I enjoy knowing I have earned something, but even the means to that end can seem a true learning experience.
Knowing bits and pieces of various subjects -- or -- knowing everything of one subject?
Does knowing everything of one subject preclude knowing anything about other subjects? If so, then I choose the former. Also, since knowing everything about any subject is too ambitious an undertaking, I suppose I'll take knowing (a bit more than) just 'bits and pieces' of various subjects.
Good question, though, Mono. I've often wondered if concentrating on one thing would be better than dabbling in various fields (especially unproductive ones ).
So, same question passes to the next person.
“I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry-rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.”

I'll take knowing bits and pieces of various subjects - It gives me way more topics of discussion at parties.

Do, or do not. There is no try. - Yoda
Knowing bits and pieces of various subjects indeed, It's no fun being an expert in one field and being dead focussed on it to the point of being a social outcast because it's all you live and breathe.

Dinner with Snape or a Dinner with Lord Voldemort?
I sang of leaves, of leaves of gold, and leaves of gold there grew.
Lord Voldemort, he appears more sinister to me. Would like to know him.
writing letters in own handwriting or writing an e-mail.
I prefer handwritten mail as one generally preserves it, and also, now that it's almost a rarity with the advent of e-mail(except for bills!)...But I'm usually too lazy to write letters by hand myself! So, I'd say the latter for convenience's sake, and the former for sentimental value.
Idealism or Pragmatism?

Ideals or Idols ?
The eternal quest of the individual human being is to shatter his loneliness.
Ideals, I suppose.
