    Poor scorpions

    Conflicts

    The poor verse sulks
    not heading his neighbor's grief
    or rhymed despair.
"I seemed to have sensed also from an early age that some of my experiences as a reader would change me more as a person than would many an event in the world where I sat and read. "

re: scorpions - a true story: about 20 years ago my then only grandson and I took a short walk up the road and stopped at a small hillside of shale and absent-mindedly took of a few hand-sized sheet-chunks of loosened shale off the side to reveal the scorpions; 2-black scorpions just minding their own business... we left them alone... hope they found a new hide-out.

    Love the literary poem

    at the beach, again

    foggy seaside day
    a gentle stream to traverse
    beachcombing blanched sands

re: Yea, scorpions like to hide in dark places. But you didn´t know they were there and they probably regarded it as a chalenge to move their residence.

Liked your seaside poem. It has been a good time since I went to one.

Rainy morning (as in older times)

    Shiny puddles hail
    torrents of gushing waters,
    nosediving trees.

re: seaside... sadly me too - used to be a large part of my life: beachcombing/solitude/family/tide pools

Love your poem... nosediving trees is intriguing; happens a lot here.

    lakeside

    a double rainbow
an island in the lake sings
    as it touches shore

    Enchanting vignette!

    Noon

    A tired morning
    Smelling of lunch lazily
    enticing the sun

    My kind of morning

    marsh færies

    a crisp starry night
    bats wheel tracking fireflies
    while marsh færies dance

    Magical!

    Trivial Vignette

    Morning sun hiding
in the clouds; a little dog
    yawns. Nothing happens.

    Lol... trivial ?

    sn@ils

    sheer faced slate hillside
    coiled snails venture out early
    while the morning reigns

    White clouds grace
    the azure sky like
    herds of cotton sheep.

    Love your poem

    a home on the beach

    a home on the beach
    I would have honeysuckle

the curlews / half moon bay

    each hot afternoon

    Learned about curlews, graceful birds

    Urban nights

    Laughter, sirens, shouts,
    Shrill sounds pervade the streets
    Dimming distant stars!

Enjoyed the city reflection and the "skyglow" effect... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skyglow

    a home by the sea

    sand dollars would be
my currency - if I had
    a home by the sea

    stone

    perfect starry night
    a weatherworn stone observes
    the cold universe

Thanks for the "skyglow" article. Had never thought about it, but one can´t conceive a modern city without it

Charming Haikus. Liked specially the second, though more somber one.

    Bookish noses

    They don´t get tanned.
    Waves are unknown to these
    Submerger in words.

    Black Holes

    Stir heart of darkness,
    announce thy empty core.
    Brilliant nothingness

Thanx ! "Bookish noses": Lol ! Too true ! "Black Holes": an interesting study in such few words.

    roly-polys

    roly-polys play
their harps and viols bright - as
    færies dance with joy!
