English and Russian are definitely 2 of my main interests, but I don't know anything about flowers and my Russian is nowhere near as fluent

Where did you find many flowers in Russian lit.? Why this interest in flowers in lit? It's nice and peculiar Just curious...

doesn't Russian have different characters that don't appear in the latin alphabet?

Kik, it is a whole different alphabet, but I don't think it's a problem to view it on the site.

So the person up there is just looking for a translation... Shame I thought it was going to be a pecuiliar discussion. And double shame it'll take me 20 years to be able to translate from Russian, if I'll ever be able It would have been a funny job!

Sorry to disappoint you , I'm on my second year of studying Russian, though it's quite heard and I'm still trying to find a good method to get fluent... I can say easy stuff with lots of mistake, and there are so many words I don't know....it's a long long path...
And unfortunately, there are so many languages I don't know.... YET!!!

It's pity, I have typed my favorite poem in Russian by Akhmatova as some of you wanted to read some...

I do still need translation from Russian into english to feel how it sounds in real English.

I f you liked the poems - I will write more as I know a lot by heart and would be happy to share.

That's good but we need to find a way to view cyrillic... I think it depends on our computers, but if it depends on the forum, please let's have it sorted!

Koldunia, I think if you look for them in the internet, you will find translations... Achmatova must be rather famous!

I'd love to do some translation for you. Please let me know how much you need translated and perhaps send me a sample of your material so I'll be sure I can handle that particular kind of vocabulary. E-mail me at [email protected] if you still need help.
