Alexandre Dumas' father's last name was Davy.He was a general in Napoleon' army. Alexandre changed his name from Davy to Dumas--a name from his maternal line.

Yes, this is the same person. Baptsm records from Notre Dame in Quebec clearly show that she is decended from Pierre DAMAS and Louise FONTAINE.
