Eid Alfitr ,it's like when you say : (name of the occasion)and then Day,so Eid works like the word Day here.

    Anyway, enjoy your holiday.
Well, Virgil, both Eid El Fitr and Eid El Ahda depend on the lunar calander.

Well about eid molid its not a proper eid becuase there are only 2 proper eid and every friday. Eid el molidad was somthing invrnted by the I cant rember who were they were now beteen the authmanieen and the abasyin built masjid el azhur? that era.

EID EL FITR is about celebrating the many blessings we have and hoping that God excepts our prays hope ect. While eid el Udha is about sacrifice and celbrating our unity and oness as a people and our willingness to give up what we count most dear if needed but at the same time celbrating that God doesnt ask that much of us really.

    Sort of .

And yupts tied lunar calender which means on avarage they move 11 days forward every year. and every thirty years the days fall the same. So when Im 30 my arabic and english birthdays will be on the same day.

Happy Eid ! but why not tomorrow ? Baqar Eid is celebrated for 3 days following the Hajj(Pilgrimage to Mecca) a day before. Cows, goats, sheep and camels are sacrificed in the name of Allah by well-to-do Muslims.

Happy Eid! And speaking of cows, I woke up at 5 am on the first day of Eid by a cow! It was making these....sounds! I woke up, and looked at the window of my room, I found it right under my window! I don't think I'll ever see it again...a cow under my window..

Happy Eidl Kabeer to all my muslim brothers and sisters. May Almighty Allah give us the blessings of this moment-Amin.

Thanks for the thread. Had tried to do it since but I wasn't capable to.

    Happy celebration!
Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if he or she were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness, and understanding you can muster, and do so with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.

OH I meant the start of eid (in america, there was a weird confusion on WHEN it starts so some people celebrated it on wednesday, and some friday...I hate that there's no unity in even eid - ul- adha...today's friday here)
