    Question I need help with the Moonstone!

    I have a question i need some people to help me with. The question is: Why does Godfrey burn the paper that Rachel wrote saying he is innocent? Infer what this reveals about his personality.

    I'm pretty sure he explains why right after he does it. (I jsut read it and I can't remember, I'm losing it). He doesn't want Rachel's reputation to be damaged - that the basic answer. You could always - and if it's a question for school, go deeper by examining his character and his feelings for Rachel
    I wrote a poem on a leaf and it blew away...
