In a lecture many years back I heard a story recalled about a man who committed a murder (i think it took place on a beach) and who was being put on trial for his crime. He, however, did not beleive that murder was wrong (or something along those lines) and hence punishing him was questionable. It is basically exploring the definition of morality, who decides morality and issues pertaining to this. I could be slightly wrong with the aforementioned plot but it is something like that. If you know of the book/ play I am after please email me. i beleive it is named after the charachter. it is definately not a recent publication (unless reprinted). Thank you!
