Do you remember how to be a kid?

I got a little bit peeved at a newpaper article I read, it talked about children that lash out at others because they don't know what to do with their rage, so here's what I did with mine. Maybe it'll remind some people what they ended up dealing with when they were young ...

Remember How to be a Kid?

People say kids have too much rage,
But we treat life like it’s a stage,
We’re always told to stand up tall,
Then you just make us feel small,
And I’m not making an excuse,
But I do not need your abuse.

You seem to think you know the best,
But you’re no better than the rest,
    Apparently we’re all the same,
When you don’t even know my name,
We are all just as good as you,
You are the one without a clue.

You keep on saying I’m depressed,
But all you do is make me stressed,
    It’s not impossible to fall,
When you’re pushing against the wall,
That holds up everything you know,
When your life feels like a show.

    I am constantly on parade,
When you feel you’ve got your life made,
I think you’d find it very bleak,
To live like me for just one week,
Remember how to be a kid,
All of the stupid things you did.

You wonder why I try to hide,
But why not just let me decide?
    Emotions running everywhere,
And no one ever seems to care,
    Repetition becomes stale,
It starts to snow and then to hail.

I’m sick of running the same track,
But I’m unsure how to turn back,
I’m told to sit, I’m told to stand,
Do well in math, go join the band,
I never seem to get my say,
Let me live my life my own way,

I’m told children are the future,
And then you won’t let us mature,
You tell me “learn from a mistake,”
Then tell me which ones not to make,
You don’t know how much it can hurt,
When you push us into the dirt.

I’ve often tried to spread my wings,
But I’m a puppet on your strings,
So every time I turn around,
My face keeps smashing on the ground,
There is so much that I could say,
But to do that I’d have to stay,

You never listen when I talk,
So now I’ve decided to walk,
I work hard to get my grade,
Don’t tell me I should have stayed,
All of my wishes will come true,
And there is nothing you can do.

    I like it

You should run off copies and leave them in Various places in the school.
-It will be the talk, Teachers and students would have different views,
If your shy about it, leave your name off, and watch the gossip grow.

I'm planning to put a copy in each of the teachers trays and a couple in places like the library and stuff like that . . . just to see what happens!

Hey, we all have to do something a little bit out-of-the-ordinary at times, otherwise life is just one tedious loop of repetition!

Remember that thought....It will help you deal with, many, many things.
As you get older the loop gets smaller, less wiggle room.

So Laugh at the dog as he skoots his butt across the floor
Build a snow man to look like he's sunbathing
And do rent - Pump up the volume, it's not a new movie,
..........But with what your going to do...You'll enjoy it.

Beware the Mundane young one--it is the path to the dark side.

Come to the dark side - we have cookies!

Thanks, I do crazy stuff now because I know I won't be able to when I'm older! I get decent grades and do pretty well, so what's the harm in having a little bit of fun?!

Dark side cookies are the best- all that devils food, and loads of oreo cream.
(with all that trans fat, the've got to be evil)

Let me know how it turns out, I would be cool if the school newspaper turned it into an article.

"Paranoid Conspiracy Freak" - Aren't we all , We just don't all know it yet.
