Hmmmm I notice a distinct lack of Stanislaus Lem, Ursula Le Guin and Philip K Dick in your sci fi choice. All of them are excellent writers have you read them? As for Jeffrey Archer! Easily one of the worst writers ever! In his case popularity is in direct reverse of talent. Why is Pride and Prejudice rated #0?
It's a derelict old cinema packed with inflammable filmstock. Got a light? See? Careful. I'm everything you ever dreamed.

I loved Philip K Dick but haven't read any of the other two.

Jeffery Archer is by no means the best writer out there, but I enjoyed As the Crow Flies.

Sorry about the numbering (#0) that was my annoying friend who is constantly messing up my files.

You should try reading H. P. Lovecraft and Robert E. Howard if you haven't read anything by them yet. They should suit your tastes. I guess you've read Huxly's Brave New World as your a big sci-fi fan, but I thought I'd bring it up ifn case you haven't.

I'm so glad that Dune got recogized as #1 science fiction. I wish I had to read it again for school instead of The Red Badge of Courage.

You need some WarHammer 40k on your list. Who doesn't love to read about the Imperial Guard prevailing against Chaos for the God Emperor of Terra?

I read Flowers for Algernon about 10 or so years ago and loved it, heartbreaking though it is. I'd forgotten about it so thank you for putting that on your list. I think I shall revisit it

    I don't understand how Moby-Dick is a historical fiction.

As a recommendation, check out Virginia Woolf's Orlando, if that is, you like the unconventional, boarder line 'sci-fi' in literature.

Haven't you basically put every classic under 'historical fiction'? Historical fiction doesn't mean it was written a long time ago- it means it is set in a historical period.
