lol, I know, I've been giving you a hard time. No hard feelings.

I don't want to be popular, but it was very sweet that a person I knew for such a short period of time would want to catch the moment in a photograph.

I hope I haven't offended you. It may be hard to play nice, but its the way I like it.

One of my best friends wrote me an email yesterday... I haven't seen him since May and we were seperated very quickly during Hurricane Katrina. He is an amazing person and he wrote me this in his letter what he thought of me. It seriously made me smile and cry at the same time and the fact that it came from such a wonderful person like him made it all the more beautiful to hear because I truely admire him This is what part of it said:

"You’re incredible (does this make sense so far? : )
)… you really overwhelm me… you even give me goose bumps
    sometimes!
I would say I covet the
relationship you have with God! I’m constantly in awe of
how obviously taken over by His love you are in your life…
your sincere compassion for everyone, the selflessness of
your thought process… jumping at a chance to brighten my
day, anyone’s day, asking questions and giving “hey, I
was listening from the bottom of my heart” responses…
responses that are so obviously the words of God, Himself
    speaking through you…
being the first to comment at a meeting, driving
EVERYONE out to dinner or offering to do anything u can
for a friend in mourning…. you really have a grip on
what’s truly important in this life… and the set-backs
that hinder most people who more or less know what’s
important do not disturb you… it’s really a beautiful
thing to witness from the outside in, I wish you could sit
in my seat and see it all unfold so you knew exactly what I
mean and how amazing you are…"

... well, I guess the most beautiful thing ever said to me was said just a few hours ago by my mother. She said that she thinks, I can be a really good journalist(well, writer) and photographer.(Because she regarded some of my photos this evening) And that just made me soooo happy because she has never said that before, not like that, and it's really important for me to know what my family(okay, mostly my mother) thinks.
I believe, this is the most beautiful thing ever said to me because before it would have been something like " I love you" but I know I'm loved by my family and although, that's a pretty beautiful thing to hear, what she said today made me more happy than I think I've ever been before.

A few days ago at work I was helping an old man and I sat next to him on his bed, he looked at me and sais: You'r not so ugly. I thought it was so sweet of him.

I was living with a woman. Her little girl (6 years old at the time) asked me if she could tell her school friends that I was her daddy.........such innocence, such longing, such a simple human need to belong, to be like others......

.....most of the beautiful things people have said to me had a beauty emanating from a rawness of humanity, glimpses of a naked 'self' shared........... a beautiful, priceless, somewhat wanton connections. I've experienced this many times and cherish the reality of fundamental needs marking us as interconnected...........hug someone today...

well...'you're devilishly handsome' is one i hear every day so that one lol.
They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
    We will remember them.

i worked at a summer camp for kids this year and there were international counselors that spoke really good english. anyway, pablo, who is from spain, was probably the strangest person i could ever encounter. his personality is a lot like mine except more outwardly focused. one night, he asked me what weird meant because i kept refering to that word. i told him. he said "you're weird". it wasn't exactly beautiful but it was hilarious that he would describe anyone else as weird. after that we spent time talking about the dark, harnesses, and then he pulled a tick out of his hair. we drowned it.
"Sometimes reality is an ugly thing. Oh yes this world is still a mess, but you still have one more complaint to add on to this list. Just one more dead weight to help pull down this sinking ship. Same old heartbreaking story."
    against me!

""what school do you go to?" i told her pencey, and she'd heard of it. she said it was a very good school. i let it pass, though"
