    Letter/ Persona/ Ghost letter game.

Okay this game is sort of an earlier version of RP. Me and Rachy started playing it, and we have decided to open it to the public so everyone can join in or read it and enjoy our fun if you dont want to join

1 The rules are simple you can Only be one charcter.
2 And one character can only be written by one person.
3 You write a letter, you may be someone already exsisting
in the plot and write to someone who is already playing or you can be a new element entirly and write to someone who is playing ( but lease ntroduce yourselves in the letter).
4 The REAL rule is you CAN NOT reveil what you plan for the plot to anyone!!
5 You cannot ignore what someone says you have done or anything that messes with your plot Incorprate it!!
6 You can not ignore any letter adressed to you unless for some plot reason you did not recive it !

PS If you die ehem or are killed by someone you can still join from beyond the grave so to speak, Ghosts, discovered journals, letters that are kept with lawyers ect.

One more thing DO NOT post in this thread anything that is not part of the game or the smilies might just get upset ( if you get my drift..) any disscusions belong in the Live Chat thread and queries you can PM and Ill change this message.

Well I hope that wasnt too nasty, and I hope you enjoy the game!

    Dear El,
Well I have managed to survive my first week in this
place. But I must tell you it is no fun at all. They
afford me some respect because of Papa's position
and money but I know its only because of that and
not for any other reason, such as them liking me.
How I wish I was with Papa On his Expedition.
Instead aunt Eliza reminded him that I am now
sixteen and would soon need to come out and as she
pointed out in her nasty way (you know that way
she has of inspecting on down her long nose through
her glasess) " But Henry she is veritable Hyodon no
graces at all. Im sure she probably knows more Magic
than a Lady should its undignified" and of course
dear papa much as I love him we all know is so
    easily convinced.
Some of the girls sniggerd when they heard my
name, its to be expected I suppose, Somtimes I
forget quite how strange a name Melaria is. Another
one of those things one must put up with when they
    have an eccentric archeoligist father.

But how are you and how are you getting on with
your step mamma? Last timewe spoke you said that
contray to all faery tales she was an extremly nice
and sweet person. Oh I wish I was with you, I dont
envy you your balls or your dresses but it would be
nice to be able to go for a good gallop down some
contry lanes again. Remeber how we met old Mr
Danwhick on the road and half scared him to bits?

Well now the clock has sounded and th candle is
burning out and tommorow horror of horrors we have
dancing and singing lessons and shall make a fool of
myself once again-- I wish they taught magic or
catalogining in this place though I suppose neither of
    those are deemed ladylike qualities.

    With love your best
    friend,
    Mel

    Dearest Mel,
I'm sorry to hear that you have not been enjoying your time at "Miss Hunchington's". Although we did turn our noses up at it when you first heard news of it. How disgusting! Take no notice of those ghastly girls. I think your name is beautiful and sums you up perfectly, you are an amazing exotic person!

Oh, don't think that all my life is great. I do so enjoy the balls and Iím glad that you have not been here to witness them because I know how much you love to mock them and mock me for loving them. Father bought me a new dress that was coloured in turquoise and caught the light as you moved. I thought of you with all your precious stones that your father collected for you on his digs in Egypt. Although something I think you would have enjoyed is seeing me fall flat on my face as I tripped over the dress father bought me. A young man named Jonathan picked me up aged seventeen, and we talked all night. I have seen him three times since and have arranged to meet tomorrow. I think he may kiss me soon. He is ever so handsome.

I so do miss Mamma! I do wish that she had not have died, but I do get on with Samantha as it. Daddy insists I call her Mother, but I canít bring myself to do it just yet. I hate the fact that I am beginning to love her so. I hope Mamma is not watching me and feeling betrayed.

I remember old Mr Danwhick. That afternoon was so much fun. He almost dropped his shears on his foot. We laughed until we were giddy. That was the afternoon that we rested in the field and told each other our life long ambitions. That shall always remain in my mind and my heart. His son, has been invited to the house many times. Do you remember young Lawrence? I think father wishes me to start some kind of relationship with him. He does not agree with Jonathan as he is not of the right social class. I now have to see him in secret. Lawrence is a vulgar boy.

You have dancing and singing lessons? How funny. You the girl with two left feet and hardly the voice of an angel. How we laughed at Auntie Janeís birthday, you kept stepping on my toes and deafened us all. I miss those days!

Donít you worry yourself you are seeing your father soon. Did you not tell me last time we saw each other that you were to be seeing him on his latest expedition? I hate being alone and being tutored. I find it horribly boring and I miss you being there with me to laugh behind Miss Lucyís back.

No doubt I shall see you soon.

All my love, your life long friend
    El.

    Dearest El,
Well it wasnt as bad as it could have been and
thats a fact! I found That I apparantly excel as a
sketchest. I have made a friend of sorts too, Her
name is Lady Louisa, her father is the Duke of Selby.
Anyway Lady Lou and I have struck an agreement
she will help me learn to dance and will help her
sketching thus hopefully we will both avoid Miss
Huchington's scolds. Have I told you that she is a
veritable shrew? well she is- she could pass for the
wife of Bath if she were but married, or am I
    confusing my tales again?

Now my dear dont be silly of course your Mamma
doesnt resent your liking Samantha, Im sure she is
happy that there is someone to lead you throgh
your season and comeout other than Aunt Eliza!!
Dont forget your Mama Knew you and loved you so of
course she wants the best for you. You heed my
word on this I am afterall the expert on dead
mothers, as my Mother has always been dead. As old
Lucy my mothers abigale used to say "The poor
mistress would never have alowed the Duke to call
you Melaria, such an outlandish name they say it is
the name of a disease, Maddened by grief he must
    o'bin poor duke".

El pray be careful Im sure if your father
dislikes this Jonathan of yours it must be because he
has reason to do so. Has he no Expectations at
all? It is sad when that happens isnt it? He is a bit
young to marry you though isnt he, only seventeen
why hes only a boy yet. still I would advise you not
to let him gt too familiar, and if he does kick him hard
in the shins or that other way Fllordaic showed us.

That reminds me, have you heard that the Faerie
Embassy was broken into? The whole town is in
uproar about it! They say that the Faerie Court is
deeply offended and the Queen will withdraw fromthe
Magical Treaty and may even declare WAR! or at
least thats what one can gather as "its vulguar for
ladies to read the newspaper" apparantly.
But Lady Lou's brother has all the peculiars and sent
her a long letter telling her all about it , a full nine
sides it was! Can you imagine that a man write a full
nine sided letter, full of intresting things, I know papa
could not, and you have often complained that your
brother Toms letter's are worse than not reciving any
    letter at all!

I wish Fllodraic was here, instead of actting as
Papa's secratry-manager he as a Faerie would know
    what is really going on!

As for Lawrance, he's not that bad, wasn't it less
than six months ago that you admitted that you
thought his blue eyes were the most beautiful you
had ever seen. I bet your just still miffed he ignores
    you!

I can image your face now, all blushed and now you
are frowning and are saying "respect your elders child"
And so I take this oppertunaty to remind you again
dear heart I am only a nine months younger than you
and although there is alot of differance between
sixteen and not out and seventeen and out, you are
not that much older than I.

Well my dear I have to stop now and go to sleep for
tommorow is another day of torture though I do
belive we may be allowed out for a constitutional and
a visit to the Waters in the morning,
    Your friend forever
    Mel

NB I reopened this in themorning I only have a few
minues before the post but take good care El I have
one of my feelings coming on me, somthing is going
to happen and Im not sure it will be pleasent,

    Dearest Mel

I am glad to hear that you are keeping well and beginning to enjoy your life at Miss Huchingtonís school.

Sketching? How lovely, I had never thought that that would have been one of the things you would have enjoyed so much. I hope you are drawing lovely pictures of faeries and I hope to see them soon when I come to visit.

Lady Louisa sounds like a lovely person and itís very rare to find someone of our age who is good at dancing and willing to help so well done. They were certainly pay off when you come and see me as father is practically having a ball a day. He finds something different to celebrate each night. Iím not complaining because I now have an excuse to see Jonathan without bringing too much attention to ourselves.

I admire Jonathan so! Samantha caught us one day whilst walking in the woods. She had been sent out to look for me as I was late for my French tutorial. She found us under the apple tree that you and I used to climb and sit under. I told Samantha about my feelings for him and she said she understands and is trying her hardest to help us keep it from father as she knows how angry he would be. You know how he gets when heís angry. I only hope the same thing does not happen that happened last time! I have grown to respect Samantha as a person and now as a mother. I even called her Mother without realizing the other day! That is a sign of a good person, and she is, she is a great person!

In your last letter you mentioned about marriage. Do not worry dearest, marriage is not in my mind quite yet. I donít know his intention, but I am sure I will find out soon enough.

I had not heard about the Faerie Embassy, how awful for you. Please send me any news that you receive and keep me updated.

Tom, oh I do miss him. I know how you feel. When Tom left with your father on his latest dig I felt as though my heart was ripped out. His letters are awful, and I know I laugh at them but I truly appreciate every letter I receive, I refuse to lose him. Father still has not spoken to Tom since their argument before he left and there is a definite strain on the family. I only hope they speak soon. I keep asking father to write to him and apologise. He wonít of course he is too stubborn. I am worried for his health, all this bitterness is not healthy for him.

Lawrence is a despicable person. You are right, there was a time when I loved him so, and it hurt when he looked at me and I could not hold him. But that time has passed and I now find him and crude. I wish he would stop coming over, it is pretty obvious that I have no feelings for the boy and I made that perfectly clear when he moved in to kiss my cheek as he left, I turned my head and walked away. He is vulgar.

Nine months is a long age gap you know! You are practically a baby compared to me! I donít know why I put up with you sometimes. I do so love to mock you as I can just imagine you know rubbing your ear as you do when you get angry.

You mentioned that you feel as though something unpleasant is about to happen. What gives you this feeling? I am now extremely worried.

How is your sister Joanne and her new child? I hope her marriage is as good as she expected and delighted in telling us about those nights when we could not sleep and she would come to talk to us. Itís a shame that herself and Tom did not work out. I so prayed to be somewhat related to you. I think that is one of the reasons Tom left. It pained him too much to see her happy with a new life, he spoke to her many times after her wedding and I gathered that she still felt for him.

I hope all is well and I wait impatiently for your next letter.

    All my love
    El

NB Jonathan kissed me last night as we walked back from the woods. He so is a charming man.

    Dearest,
Sorry I havent written back sooner but The shrew Of Bath wouldnt give me
my letters as punishment for unrooly behaviour.

    What behaviour you ask??

Well if you remeber I tod you we were going on a constitutional on the
Sunday. As we walked through the park in nice ordarly pairs, hands clasped
in front eyes lowered. The governesses flocking around like wet hens we
heard a teribble scream. And suddenly there was on of the Little Folk
running for their life from a pair of young gentalemen who though that
that it was good sport! They even had the dogs out!!!!

Obviously this was unacceptable so I ahh shall we say
acted (for want of better word).
I stuck my foot out atripped on of the boys over and and so the other fell
over him and the dogs got tangled up. It was such a rewarding site!
Reminds me of the line " how the mighty have fallen" Served them right!

And so the Imp ( I could see it was an Imp now) took off but before she
dissapeared she turned around an thanked me. Welll obviously it was only
polite to reply in full faerish wasnt it??? At least thats what I thought!

Unfortunatly Miss Huchington didnt agree. It appears the boys were the wards of a very powerful, rich and highly positioned Lord- Lord Eadergrove
and so this makes makes my sin doubly bad.
Also Talking to an common Faerie is just as bad if not worse than spealking
to a commener in the street! How utterly prejudiced !

So I was confined to my room for the past wek and forbidden
correspondance. To make matters even worse when the Duchess of Selby
(lady Lou's mamman you know(did I mention she is french?)
heard of this she sent for Lady Lou immediatly shes leaving tomorrow it turns out that she never wanted Lou to come here in the first palce and has insisted that as she will be 17 by trhe end of the season she can partly come out this season and wait to be presented till next year.

That reminds me you will be on your way to London soon wont you? To be presented and to dance at Almanacks.

I have to finishe now as I maust have my candle blown out within the next 5 minutes or inncur further rath of yopu know who
    love Mel

Ohh I'm just opening this up this motrning before sending it off to say such things have happened today!!! Im going with Lady Lou!
Ill tell you more in my next letter but in the meantime write to

    Lady Melaria Liton
    Care of Duke of selby

    Dear Mel,

First of when I read your letter I could not help but laugh! I am so proud of you for saving that poor creature and I do know how much u hate to see anything that is cruel. That is what I adore about you! Those Ghastly pair deserved everything they received. I donít care how high up they are. I remember a time when I would have been right beside you, and holding you back from hurting them. I miss you truly!

If course you should have spoken in Faerish. Think nothing of it. That woman sounds like such an old spinster. She shall die old and alone with no one to love her.

I was so worried when I had not received any letters from you. That woman has had me sick to my stomach! I thought something dreadful had happened, or that you had not got my letter. I am glad that you have now.

Itís excellent news that you are to be leaving with Lady Lou. I wonder what new treasures and adventures it will hold for you. I can not help feeling as though I am losing you a little. I feel as though I am being replaced, but itís fine, I knew this would happen. We are both moving on with our lives.

I have been seeing so much of Jonathan recently. We have planned for him to be at my being presented. I am so excited. I regret that soon I shall have to tell father as I believe I am falling in love with him, which is what I did not want to happen, but he says he feels the same. What will father say? I do worry about his mood swings.

I wrote to Tom last week and he agrees that I should tell father, but he has told me to wait until he returns home, so we can tell him together (Of course only after they had made amends!).

I heard nothing of your sister. You did not reply. How are mother and baby?

    All my love El.

Two days later, as the post will not be taken until two days more, and the worst has happened! I was having a conversation with Samantha about father and his doings, when she let slip that he had received a visit from Lawrence. I asked what it was about and after lots of begging she finally revealed that Lawrence is planning to ask me to marry! I am only sixteen. I am in no way ready for marriage, but father expects me to say yes and has given Lawrence permission to ask. What am I to do? I spoke to Jonathan about it and he is not happy. He has demanded to see father straight away. The plan myself and Tom came up with has now gone to waste. I canít let Jonathan tell father that we are in love, and the strange thing is, when I was told about Lawrence, I was happy. I donít know what will happen. I am so scared!

    Mel,

I have not had the chance to speak to Lawrence. Last week father became very unwell and has been in bed everyday, hardly able to move.

The whole house is a mess and no-one seems to be carrying out their duties. I feel so lonely. I told Jonathan to leave me as you said, and the strange truth is, I have been yearning for Lawrence to hold me. I don't miss Jonathan at all, and it is fathers wish that I marry him. He told me so.

We are all so afraid that he will not last and myself and Samantha have been compiling all the paperwork in case the worst should happen. She has not been coping well. I'm sure it's true what they say, when the end is near, that is when your love is truely revealed. I love her now more then ever and often sit and hold her through the night.

Tom returned home and father and himself put their differences aside and now act like father and son once more. I love them both dearly.

How is life with Lou? I need you to re-count some of your fun to take my mind of fathers health.

I hope you are well and apologise that this letter brings such sad tidings.

Father wishes to see you! I do so hope we can arrange it! I miss you terribley and want you more then anyone by my side. I don't feel up to my being presented but I must stop hiding from the world and show my face.

I do hope to speak to you soon.

    All my love El

I can just imagine your face when you woke up to find Nagrissgay The Imp sitting on your bed with this. I knew you woould need cheering up so Ive added this note to the bundled of letters as a foreword and an Afterword.

Ive been up half the night writing to you so that you would get this this morning I just hope I am not too late. Anyway Im afraid this messaging system will not work two way yet but If you get the things I ask for from My house it might just do so eventually.

See I told you befriending Faeries would be benificial

    Attached letter

Dear El this is the accout of how I have ended up with Lady Lou.

So it was Tuesday morning and after just one day of freedom after
a week of captivity you could say I was growing restless. We were
all at the breakfast and I was sad because Lady Lou was to be
leaving in That afternoon Lady Selby Being so mad about You know
whos treatment of me. (that reminds me Of course you are not being
relaced! Stupid!) anyway suddenly I felt that prickly feeling at the
back of my neck ; you know the one that hearlds the arrival of
Faerie magic. Anyway suddenly a cold wind swept round the table
and by then I knew It was a sending sell I mean growing u in my
household I learned to recognise one quicvkly enough.

So I went back to minding my own buisness and eating my
gruel- which was awful by the way. When The little cloud stoped in front Of me and zthen Dear old Pappas head a ppeared and Instantly I could
see That he swas quite distressted and he began to shout
" Mel Child what is this I hear from Flladoric about you being punished
for helping one of The Folk?" Did I mention that Nagrissgay had been visting me??
and when I confirmed this his head swung around and he started yelling at THAT WOMAN as he called her then he looked at me again and yelled
"and where is Your sending JEWEL??? Do you reliase how exsausting this is for Fllodaric and what is that you are Eating" of course he didnt wait for a reply and started yelling as how I was to leave immediatlly and just then Lord Shelton (lou's brother) walked in and offered aa a home for me just like that said he was taking Lou home on account of the aallin g maanners of this instition and he was sure the maiter wouldnt mind me along as well.

    Mel,

I am so very greatful! I went straight to yours as you guessed and retrived the jewel in which you spoke of, as I am sure you know, and seeing you made my heart leap! I have missed you so and seing your face made me so happy. I am only distressed that we could not sepak to one another. Father was also pleased to see you. Ever since you have been gone it has been like losing a daughter to him as he took care of you likea daughter as your father asked when he would go away on his expeditions. There is so much I wish to say in which I can't say in a letter in case it falls into the wrong hands!

Nagrissgay came and took a look at father and the best has happened! She brought herbs with her and said a chant as we fed the remedy to him. He was suddenly recovered from his mysterious illness and the next day he was up and about again, Very slowly I might add but he is now on the mend and recovering well.

I now owe you my fathers life and I shall never forget wht you and your friends have done for me! I now look oh so forward to my ball!

Do you see anything blossomng between yourself and Lord Shelton! How exciting that would be! I'm sorry my mind is full of girlish things even though I know that you do not care for that kinda of thing, but oculd there be any chance?

I know it's a long shot, but it would be so lovely if you could be at my being presented. You could meet Lawrence. Recently we have got ever so close and I feel so strongly for him, I still have not told Jonathan. I hoe he has found someone whilst he has kept away. It so would make life easier!

Tom has been staying at home recently and says your father is well and misses you dearly. Tom is considering staying at home and not returning to the expedition. Now father and himself have made up, he does not want to leave us. It has been lovely with him home and I do not think I could handle his leaving me again. I love him too much and himself and Samantha get along too.

I wish to hear from you soon so don't keep me in suspense!
    All my love
    El

    El!
I am so homesick you dont know! And seeing your face is what has brought
it on. Would you believ I was even jealous of Naggy when she got back, simply because she had spoken to you.

Now El what I am about to tell you is rather distressing so please be brave,
Naggy says she thinks your Pappa may have been cursed and as it is forrbidden very strictly for any of The Folk
to do any such thing she like all parnoid Ims suspects Black Magic. She didnt tell you herselfbecause she didnt want to worry you.

As for Lord Shelton and me! honestly if I didnt Know better I would suspect
you of being one of those empty headed girls at Miss Huchingtons!!

At a small informal ball last night I met LordEadergrove's newphew Mr. Wilson- Mr Jonathon Wilson.
Yes my dear Im afraid he is Your Jonathon and I see what it was that fasinated you about him but and I hope this does not offend you he reminds me too much of his uncle. And he was rude about Naggy. Also he is rather stout about the waste. And my darling if you can bare it accorrding to
Lord Sheldon he lied to you he is that same age as he 24 but do not be heartbroken apparantly he can be devistating when he wants to be!

So you be going down to London soon I suppose? Pray have a good time
and dont let your head be turned by any silly talk.

    Keep safe

    Mel

Ps I should think Your appa is a better erson tyo askj about the faerie world seeing his osition in the Ministry and all also Tom might be quiote helpful

    Mel,

I am very distressed! Black magic? Who do such a thing to my poor father? I love him so much! Why would soomeone attack him like this? Has he done something to offend someone? Is it something I have done? My head is spinning!

You saw Jonathan? I feel quite sick! How could he be so crude? He lied to me! I feel so sick to my stomach and I feel ever so stupid. I was even considering taking him back. I had not spoken to Lawrence for a while and Jonathan has been making his presence even more noticeable. He will come and see me every day almost to the point when he is beginning to worry me! He does not like it when I do not see him and has often got angry at me. I was talking to Samantha about it and she has pleaded with me to leave him, but I am so worried of how he would react.

The other day, whilst walking in the woods, I was telling him of my ball and how Lawrence was to be there and he had asked if he could have the first dance. I told him that I had accepted. His face became extremely red and he turned to me, grabbed my arm very tight (I even got two small bruises) and he looked as though he was going to strike me. He positively scared me and I ran home crying. He sent a letter to the house apologising but I have not spoken to him since. I am so worried that he will be at the ball!

    I need you here!

I am so very gald to be leaving for London. Lawrence may be there too. I would so love to have some company!

You mentioned Tom in your letter. He says he would be happy to help you and if you ever need him, he will be there for you, all you have to do is ask!

    All my love
