william wilson by edgar allan poe (SPOILERS)

i read this short story yesterday and found myself wondering about the whole thing. its a bit tedious to read as its written in the 19th century style of giving the narrator's entire life history before going onto the tale but it got interesting when the narrator began talking about his exact double. for anyone who has read this story, could they perhaps explain what this story was about because i wasn't sure whether or not the two william wilson's were the same person or not or whether it was a jekyll and hyde kind of story or whether or not the narrator was obsessed with william wilson, adopted his personality, and eventually killed him out of insane jealousy.

I haven't read it recently, but I think that Poe wanted the reader to uncertain about exactly those things.

How interesting, as I thought I had read all of Edgar Allan Poe's short stories.
Oh well, hopefully soon I will find the time to read this particular story, and will probably refer back to this thread.
    Thanks, mister_noel_y2k.
