Some of the threads you people have around here kill me... But, I guess it is one way that I can reach the 50 posts I need to be considered a fully fledged member of the site...
Right now:
Swervedriver ~ "Duress"
We were the Leopards, the Lions; those who'll take our place will be little jackals, hyenas; and the whole lot of us, Leopards, jackals, and sheep, we'll all go on thinking ourselves the salt of the earth.

Lisa Gerard's new album -- The Silver Tree
(it is a double LP, and I have been flipping the sides all evening, so I am dizzy on the individual titles of songs, but it is - as usual with Gerard - a very soothing and beautiful album)
Reading back over some of the pages in this thread, it becomes very clear that you are completely ape about this band. I have managed to never actually hear any of their records (actually, I think some of the members are involved in the Desert Sessions, some of which I do own and like), although I think they would be right up my alley. Could you recommend 1 or 2 releases to break the ice with them?Originally Posted by Idril

It's that obvious, is it?I do love this band, it's been kind of a slow building obsession for a couple years now but it has recently really hit it's stride.
1 or 2 songs...that's going to be tough to limit it to just 2 but I'll give it a try.
Since I don't know your musical tastes, if you lean towards the heavy and dark or if you like the slightly odd or what have you, I'll pick a couple that are fairly safe and neutral while still being fabulous, Little Sister is a good one, it's the first one I heard and the one that got me interested in the band. For the other one it's a toss up between No One Knows and The Lost Art of Keeping A Secret...and there I just snuck in a 3rd song.
I'll be curious to hear what you think of them.
