Thank you Snowqueen. The translations I found gave me a hint of the beauty of the lyrics. One of them at: http://blog.chandrahasa.com/archives/2749

    From wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afreen :
The name Afreen/Afrin is mainly used in the Arabic, Egyptian and Indian culture. It has many meanings, including "most powerful rose" in Arabic, "delightful and elegant" in Urdu, "encouragement of goodness" in Turkish, مهتاب ("moonlight") in Persian, and "gem" in Egyptian.

The Oxford Hindi-English Dictionary by R.S. McGregor gives the translation "beauty", as does A Dictionary of Modern Written Arabic by Hans Wehr.

The primary translation is "the most beautiful one"
; also cited: Word/name: UAE; Meaning: Beautiful, enlightenment, silk of heaven

    Another explanation (from http://www.bollymeaning.com/2010/07/...n-meaning.html ):
    Aafreen/ Afreen Meaning
Aafreen is actually a word having multiple meanings, it's a word used in praise, to express the feeling of one being overwhelmed, it means brave, and it means to acclaim too.

But when we come to a song, it generally means overwhelmingly praiseworthy. For example, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's Aafreen Aafreen goes like, husn-e-jaana ki taareef mumkin nahi, aafreen aafreen, aafreen aafreen. Here, he clearly says he's overwhelmed. In Himesh Reshammiya's aafreen tera chehra, aafreen is praiseworthy again.

So as far as poetry, especially romantic poetry is concerned, aafreen is very much praiseworthy, overwhelmingly so.

Danik 2016: Enjoyed the video... the carousel on the beach was a nice touch. Found a rough translation at http://lyrics-on.net/en/1060092-guitarra-lyrics.html , my take (an interpretive approach/not translation):

    When a guitar plays
in the hands of a master
    It touches the heart
    urging the listener to sing

    My coffin will be
    most curiously shaped
In the form of a heart
with the soul of a guitar

    Guitar, sweet guitar
    I weep with your song
    Life is more gentle
when I share in your tears

Glad you enjoyed the song, tS. Your rendering of the text reads fine too.

    (lol)

    First approximation is pretty sad:

I skulaan, or dela. I play and I do not wake up. If that's the case, this business fudaa. But it's not a scum that's studying. I can skigla, Stadist veks. Gambia or Venezuela. But no pie must ever vege gets. Even when I go to the dump. I skulaan, or dela. I play and I do not wake up. If this happens, the tsydeemit fudaa. But it's not a scum that's studying. So long, I'm hanging out when the stecifer's clog is in the tower. So long, I'm going to blink when Skuru rolls on his tracks. I skulaan, or dela. I play and I do not wake up. If that's the case, this business fudaa. But it's not a scum that's studying.

    Still working...

One of the problems seems to be the extensive use of slang:
    - Oh, yes, even though the slang has been spoken for over a hundred years, so slangibis have not been much earlier, even though it is really expressive. This is a tribute to the stage slang, Judge Nurmio says.

timomastosalo In reply to Kamona Zhang
1st the translation what it roughly means,*
then I'll have my own fun, and try to change the words so you'd get an impression*
how Odd and difficult slang sounds for people outside of Helsinki, who speak more to the standard Finnish, although many dialects can be very different then the standard.*But the Helsinki slang (Stadin slang) is on a different level.*It 's distantly related to Finnish *

    The song:*
    - I'm playin ', or dyin'.*I'm playin ', an' not jus 'thinkin'.*
If the luck is striking, this business is Kickin '.*
But he won 'be playin', who's afearin '.*

I can move (travel?) Away from The City * (* Helsinki).*
    to Gambia or Venezuela.*
But I can not get Sörkka *, out of me.*
    Even when I'm dyin '.*
(* Sörkka = Sörnäinen, a Helsinki district - like Bronx in NY, or East End in London)*

I'm playin ', or dyin'.*I'm playin ', an' not jus 'thinkin'.*
If the luck is striking, the systems are Kickin '.*
But he won 'be playin', who's afearin '.*

So long, I'm hanging aroung here,*
as the station clock is in the tower.*
So long, I'm swingin '(groovin') here,*
as the Tram number seven rolls on its Rails.*

I'm playin ', or dyin'.*I'm playin ', an' not jus 'thinkin'.*
If the luck is striking, this business is Kickin '.*
But he won 'be playin', who's afearin '.*

    xxx*

Now, here's how it would roughly sound in English (?),*
if we compare how 'The Slang' sounds to Finnish ears:*

    - Ah'm sculin '*, or Dellin' (even 'Dealin', from 'dividing, deal, share' in Swedish).*
Ah'm playin ', an' no 'jus' reelin'.*
(* skulaa -> to 'scule', sculing = 'to play music, sports')*
Iv da chag's striking ', des business is peddin'.*
Bu 'he won' be sculin ', who's Fearin'.*

Ah c'n skiggle, wegs from Da Ciddeh * (* Stad = Helsinki).*
    To Gambia or Venezuela.*
You can 'ge' Seurxs *, Weg or 'me.*
    Even when Ah'm Dellin '.*
(* Sour ('Seurxs') = Sörnäinen, a Helsinki district*
    - like Bronx in NY, or East End in London)*

Ah'm sculin ', or Dellin'.*Ah'm playin ', an' no 'jus' reelin'.*
Iv da chag's strikin ', by chyddems'r peddin'.*
Bu 'he won' be sculin ', who's Fearin'.*

So long, Ah'm I'm going to 'aroun' here,*
a da staish clogger, is in da tow'r.*
So long, Ah'm swingin '(groovin') aroun 'here,*
the da scure sev'ner, rolls on its Rails.*

Ah'm sculin ', or Dellin'.*Ah'm playin ', an' no 'jus' reelin'.*
Iv da chag's striking ', des business is peddin'.*
Bu 'he won' be sculin ', who's Fearin'.

Lol! Very valid efforts though, thanks tS! It is one of the songs of the film "The Other Side of Hope!

That is phantastic, Taylor, a big thank you. You even managed to reproduce the rhythm in the English version!

Thanks for the Wikipedia link, I posted it in the forum where I watched the Disturbed video. I also remember enjoying The Undergraduate, but didn´t remember this was one of the songs of the film. The song has an interesting development story.
