it's a get-together of food bloggers from around the world - someone comes up with a topic and posts it on their site; then other bloggers send their completed recipes/pictures in a link to them. and the original poster, on the prearranged day (usually sunday) compiles all the links and makes them available for the general public that day or the next.
it's a great way to eat vicariously throughout the world/see yummy food pics, and get tons of new recipes.
haven't looked much at the main IMMB site, mostly just check out blogs and discover it at some point, but the main site does point one to the host.

Funny, I felt oddly reminded of this thread while eating a yummy bran muffin with oats and blueberries.
My first kiss with Muffin was the sweetest one I ever had. hehe
