    I loved this astrological poem!

(photograph, clash, spectrum, ice, meadow, speculate)

    The Spectre

An old photograph made me speculate.

I mused about the color clash,

all colors of the spectrum were present,

blurring the image of a strange figure,

    lean and white,

    with rainbow margins.

    It stood on a meadow,

    with mountains in the background

    wearing an iced sugar coat.

Next challenge: turkey, glasses, warmth, songs, lively, snoring.

Very nice ! (Might want to change crash with clash though)

Challenge: turkey, glasses, warmth, songs, lively, snoring

    Thanksgiving Revisited

Lively songs are sung of turkeys
    whose warmth from the oven
    create aromas of anticipation
that meld with fresh baked rolls

Glasses clink in salutation to the
    holiday throng, and those whose
    appetites survive eat desserts that
    leave many torpor, some snoring

    Charming poem!
sea, charm, leaf, glide, time, superior

    The leaf

The last leaf of the calendar
    glides charmingly
into the vast sea of time.
    Will the future
    be superior
    to the present?
    Who knows!

Next challenge: Flowers, auspicious, sand, toiling, secretly, herald.

Very nice I hadn't thought of turning "the last leaf of the calendar.".. excellent !!!

Challenge: flowers, auspicious, sand, toiling, secretly, herald

    Asparagus / an acrostic

An auspicious start to the New Year -
Sandbags needed to quell flooding in many
Parts of our locale to herald in Auld L-
Ang Syne - Secretly, as I cough and ache and
Rasp, I am grateful for the respite, the
Absence of snow this season but for a
Good dusting a month or so ago where the toiling for
Us was much less hazardous than last year's
Snowmageddon which smothered flowers & spirits

Enjoyed! Love asparagus! Though if you brake the third line at a different point, you'll get an "a".The new poem comes tomorrow. A blessed, happy and lucky 2023!

Lol... you're right... I found the typo in the title and forgot the acrostic... (maybe I was thinking of Asperger's ??) fixing in previous post

Thanks! I still have difficulty with acrostics

patience, rainbow, mosaic, stars, reveal, reality

On the Brink of a new Government

    Reality demanded endless patience.
For years we were deprived of
    the passing mosaics of stars
    and the perception of
    the dazzling colors of
    rainbows.
    Revelations of
    the future
    rest with the ramp

New challenge: sun, inspiring, eternally, void, arrow, reaping.

Enjoyed your poem Congratulations on the new government... praying for peace.

My effort needs attention... I fell asleep while editing if that says anything:

Challenge: sun, inspiring, eternally, void, arrow, reaping

    the prairie chicken / 1847

    a gingham bonnet protected her
face from the fierce sun - a fount
    eternally blessed inspiring song
from those who sought to catch
her eye - those whose tender
    hearts could not avoid cupid's
    swift inerrant reaping arrows fly

Thanks! It happens very often that I doze of in front of TV or when I am reading, even if the book is interesting. As for poems I rarely write them in the evening. Suppose it has to do with what we in Brazil call the best age.

Charming poem! Sly change of "void". These poems are a sort of mental gymnastic.

arise, utter, shadow, agile, cool, choose

    The shadow
    Out of utter darkness
    a shadow arises.
    I choose agility and
    leave the room.
    Outside the air is cool
    and the serene sky
    is covered with stars.
I awake: it was just a nightmare.

New challenge: white, seaside, thunder, cheerfully, ponder, freedom.

Challenge: white, seaside, thunder, cheerfully, ponder, freedom

    a sea change

the sudden white flash of lightning
    brought a reverberation of thunder
that rattled my bones as I pondered
choices before me and I roared back

not cheerfully - a paragon of disarray

the seaside took no notice of me -
the surf crashed, ebbing and flowing,
lording over its freedom unaware of
    the nexus unravelling between us

Lol! Loved the expression "tickle the toys in the attic "
    A solemn poem.

    Bees rumored

    and at a glance.

Challenge: Window, brown, alligator, roaming, nostalgic, sleeless

    Chillin' at Starbucks

Chillin' at Starbucks watching passersby -
Outside the window a brown sleeveless
alligator vest roaming, wearing a nostalgic
tee beneath with "Dark Side of the Moon"
dayglow and a Jerry Garcia red floral tie

Dude had teeth that shone in the dark
    indistinguishable from a thresher shark's
My hot chocolate bubbled when I saw his
designer kicks as he and his entourage folded
into a pink convertible the size of an ark

    Loved this imaginative poem!

I´m afraid Parafernalia is buried somewhere in this thread, but I think I can oblige you.

invisible, view, aware, roll, gnome, folklore

    Parafernalia 0

    A whim, a vision, a dream perhaps
I saw a ciranda of gnomes.
They were disposed in a circle,
    dancing with synchronized movements
each one performing with a roll of bread.

Then, I wasn´t quite aware when the scene changed and
    the folkloric creatures suddenly
rolled on the ground and laughed.
They became more and more transparent
    until they were totally invisible
    and only their laughter remained.
    It was a ludicrous view.

Next: incredible, bugs, cachalots, plastering, blue, fridge.
