Challenge: mountain slope, antelopes, efforts, advance, rust, somewhere
harsh realities
somewhere on a mountain slope
antelopes shake off the rust of
fatigue in their weary bones and
advance with collective efforts
spurred on by primal hunger toward
sagebrush below the harsh winter
snowline to feed - a gruesome
scene reminds them to heed the
skies where golden eagles fly

a talented mimic.
He swayed to samba and lullaby

diverse answers to musical challenges.

we've failed as shepherds

re Willem Elsschott:- Sorry! As I was on tablet without my archives I just put up the name of the author with the intention of completing the information in the morning. Of course there was a spelling mistake.
On Elsscott:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willem_Elsschot
The tale I mean was translated as "Will-o'-the-wisp" but the original title is "The Twilight"
It's a short story, here is the beginning:
https://assets.flandersliterature.be...7-the-Wisp.pdf
Than the search goes on. The narrator being on the side of the strangers now, gets an insight into the prejudice they are subjected to. The search goes on but they donīt find Maria. In the end the narrator separates from the strangers. They go their separate ways but a form of good will and harmony has been established between them.
Your poem made me think. Itīs a different way of seing the universe.

Challenge: trial, railroads, tricycles, reservoirs, lads, llamas
for your entertainment
all you can eat salads on the menu
perused by llamas inside trial balloons
effortlessly drifting, floating on high
above reservoirs and railroads below -
tonight's entertainment led by baboons
dressed as minstrels singing malapropos
riding on tricycles mobius-like nearby

My diary
Dear diary!
Of course you know,
that written by a mere rag doll,
you are just a shadow
and a parody
of real human memories.
Yet I hope that some
readers will be attracted,
like lodestones
to this innermost sanctum
of my thoughts and feelings.
Let our journey together,
alternating light and grave moments
be fruitful to the dear readers.
Emily, Victoria, January 1st, 1850.

Challenge: Fruit, deer, cab, milestone, get along, peripheric
unfortunate ones
peripatetic deer
with peripheric vision have
the whole kit and caboodle
they get along while
those with tunnel vision
dodge bullets, cars, and trucks
some unfortunates
decorating milestones

Clean Cloud Nostalgia!
Oh, where are the clouds of yesterday
swelled with rainwater, which took
the form of a hat, a bird, a fleeing hare?
Fleeting moments of a fleeing fantasy
escaping in bouts of fluff?
So sweetly ignorant of posts, archives,
streaming music, tender memories
top secrets or tenacious dramas
housed in their wombs,
so much softer than denim bags
and much more elusive.
Next: weapons, garden, heliports, wander, tilt, entrench.
