Enjoyed!Poem makes one think about the disappearance of the forests.
    The Witch
She looked at the distorted painting,
With a sad, hollow lonely laugh.
    At her elbow rested
The spider she had adopted as a pet.

Next challenge:bonfire, road, underwhelmed, rustic, roof, interwoven.

    Website gone all wonky...

Challenge: bonfire, road, underwhelmed, rustic, roof, interwoven

    no direction lost

    a fierce bonfire-like flame flickered
in my mind's eye of reflection -
    the rustic proof of interwoven
    dimensionality within my imagination
    so underwhelmed by my reality
that it shimmered like the intense
superheated air upon a desert road
    wherewith I found no direction

Very imaginative poem. Hope real direction is ok.

    Three little rabbits
Three little rabbits play the guitar
on a hill full of violets.
    Being true rabbits
they didn't have any qualms on identity.
They spoke the secret language of hares,
and changed their location each time
    an enemy approached.
Ñew challenge: enigma, well, antics, surrounding, intention, wonky.

    A hare raising tale

Challenge: enigma, well, antics, surrounding, intention, wonky

    Adieu and Farewell

I once fell into an enigma well -
it wasn't my intention to enter that spell
    wonky were its surroundings
    as one would expect
and the antics of all who dwelled therein
were enough to make me aware
    that I didn't belong -
    so I scrabbled and scraped
within the confines of my mind
to loosen the fetters that had me enthralled
till at last light appeared and it beckoned
with hope and I tossed off all there was
    that had beguiled me

    Congress
    Restless constellations of power
    wanting to usurp more power
    elevating tension to breaking point
    burning bridges behind them
    defying the science of scholars.
Next challenge: wild, singular, dogwood, music, umbrella, spiralling.

Political ambition for power vs. the sciences of reality to its breaking point Well done

Challenge: wild, singular, dogwood, music, umbrella, spiraling

    A Song of Eternity

Under the umbrella of a stolid Dogwood
tree, beneath its pink blossoms one by
one spiraling down upon me, I, seemingly
alone in the wilderness 'cept a singular
    Sonoran blue butterfly searching nearby
for the Canyon liveforever to perpetuate
its species - I heard it lift up its tiny voice:
the sweetest music this side of eternity

Do we now have seven words?

    The vole

    Vole, vole
    Play your role
    After all
    You aren' t a mole.

    Lit the candelabra
    In the hole
    Traverse the hollow
    In a gingham
And the river in a canoe.
    Hide in a monster flat
    Meet a companionable rat
    Don't taste life 's pungency

    Vole, vole, etc.

    New challenge: p.o
    along, gate, lawn, histrionic,donkey, listen,history

Challenge: along, gate, lawn, histrionic, donkey, listen, history

    The Magnificent Maggiore

a donkey would sidle along an old rough hewn
fence to a gate near a lawn where an orchestra
often played and listen most intently - when as
soon as it heard Richard Strauss' Don Quixote,
Opus 35, Maggiore, it would become histrionic
and bray and bray and bray incessantly - seems
it had something to do with its family history

    Tableaux
    A brook beside a meadow
    under a bright, sunny sky.
Behind the meadow a cozy arbor.
    Sitting in front
a youth in a green hunting suit
    plays the flute.
    Beside him a single sunflower
    lifts its opulent head
    skywards.
New challenge: emerge, luck, vagrant, hoard, castle, invisible.
