    Fata Morgana
    A large ribbon of beach
    exhibits a trove of oarfish.
The sand is strewn with kelp.
On the line of the horizon, a ship
tries desperately to throw her anchor
but that may be an illusion.

New Challenge: icosahedron, key, midnight, rain, vault, between

    If I Were an Icosahedron...

    If I were an icosahedron,
I would take walks at midnight
    by starlight or rain
    I would enjoy playing
whit the paws of a cat
    and rolling into flower beds.

    If I were an icosahedron
    my heart would balance
    between beautiful Octa
    and charming Dodeca.
    Vaults I would avoid,
but I would look very hard
for the key to hedron happiness.

Next: limerick, round, whisper, wasp, peanut, gangrene.

Challenge: limerick, round, whisper, wasp, peanut, gangrene

    tainted limerick

had a friend who had a bout of gangrene... ick!
got it from a wasp sting playing a round of stick
started as a tongue irritation in the form of a blister
in his stead since he could barely whisper
I recited to his peanut gallery this tainted limerick

Next: twig, fall, beckon, linen, moonlight, magic

    Moonlight magic

    I remember that beautiful girl
that went out of the window
    wrapped in white linen
    to meet her lover.

I remember they taking a chariot
And disappearing in the moonlit night.
And the ghastly figure wrapped in white linen
that beckoned desperately out of the window.

    Girl, lover, chariot, ghost.
none of them was ever seen by daylight.

Me? I am just a twig fallen from the tree.

    snow kissing the dogwood blossoms

It's not exactly the month of June
so it's no mystery to bees, trees
or flowers here abouts - but there's
    snow kissing the dogwood blossoms
today - an ancient Spring encounter
looked forward to, it's true, which
heralds the official end of Winter in
these here parts of the Sierra foothills

    English Tableau

A rusty old man leaning on a cane,
    appears upon that walkway
    lined with red snapdragons,
leading away from the old manor house.
He seems to enjoys a soft autumn breeze
that lends movement to the whole picture,
as does the big toad sitting on the lawn
    near the pond.

Next: simpleton, king, skeleton, tower, crow, forbidden

    Once there was a king
    who lived in a tower
in the sole company of a crow.
People thought he was a simpleton
because he had given up everything:
    power, riches, friends and family
Every night there came a skeleton
    out of the cupboard and
    performed a forbidden dance.
Every time the dance was performed
the king fainted and remained in this state
until the morning. Only the crow
    watched over his sleep.

I donīt know what to do
with this king to make him wake up.
So, as I have already used up all words
Iīll let him sleep for hundred years.
Then, if the planet still exists
    and itīs climatic conditions
    and it bellicose tensions allow,
    maybe a traveling Cinderella
who chances to visit the tower
    will kiss the sleeping king.
    Letīs hope for the best.

    My lantern scans the night.
I wander down the narrow pathway
    Lined by weeping willows.

    The rays of my lantern
    meet the sleepy foxgloves
cuddled at the feet of the willows.

    Suddenly
the mighty shadow of a badger
    crosses the path
    and is gone.
