moaned - then
silence as
a once
restless Earth
finds relief -
a new
awareness takes

Modest Symphony in Green and Yellow
Each afternoon when the sun is getting down
and I sit on my small balcony
I hear the song of the sabiá laranjeira.
There are miriads of them
hidden in the few trees
that are left.
Night falls so gently to their song
(but what about the police cars racing through the streets?)
Filtered through a prism
the world looks serene.
But who is going to speak about
the horrors of the night?
The drunken cars,
the lost bullets,
the violence?
The thrush has long gone to sleep
and I gaze with renewed wonder and delight
at the starlight.

the few trees
that are left in my street.
Night falls gently lulled by their songn
(but what about the police cars racing through the streets?)
Filtered through a rainbow prism
the world looks serene.
But what about
the horrors of the night?
The drunken cars,
the lost bullets,
the hidden corpses?
The birds have long gone to sleep
and I gaze with renewed wonder and delight
at the starlight.
But it´s the dark terror of the city
that fills my dreams.

a flag which embodies pride
to its citizens of like brothers
and sisters who loosely abide
I would be like the bald eagle
which soars where'er it soars

Andromeda grinned as she passed through with
savage raw power; gravitational forces straining
stars and planetary stone landscapes become
as wet cardboard paste into the furnaces of Hades
- spewed out as elemental particles streaming
into rival merging black holes shrieking aloud
Kraken had been beloved of Andromeda - how
curious the cosmic reality versus mythology, and
thus her revenge upon the Milky Way as they
merged, as it were, as one - a barred spiral in the
end - with what plenty remained of Andromeda
