I could see it in your face
as you walked by
after you saw my wave
and stopped.
And this is how
you ended up with me at
the bus stop.
As you spoke,
you talked with your hands.
I watched the
people board my bus.
You were upset.
After the people cleared out
we sat down on the bench
and I focused myself.
Although tired, I look at you
listening, I didn't look at
my watch.
I felt your
emotional pulse
and it slowed down
when you were done.
I squeezed your
strong arm reassuring you
that all was well.
You exhaled and I
straightened my carnation pin
as we stood up.
I pointed at the smiling
moon, "Look she's still
up there."
Just as you and I are still
here.
