    Peter helps

Peter had a habit of stopping people
in the street and asking them about
    their problems

He would inform them of the solutions
Peter would look for people in trouble

and tell them what to do about their trouble,
    even though Peter was problematic

Peter could not do anything practical
like carrying groceries for the elderly,
as he a bad back and other ailments

When the young people had issues
they would come to Peter because they

knew that Peter also had issues
    and would listen to them.

I had not seen Peter in years, but saw him
    last summer, outside a bar

he was drenched in sweat, stomping up to people
    and screaming,
"WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?!" "WHAT IS WRONG?!"

the people looked into Peter's blazing eyes
    and walked away

    Problem solved.

    I enjoyed your poem, Tony!
"I seemed to have sensed also from an early age that some of my experiences as a reader would change me more as a person than would many an event in the world where I sat and read. "

Good job Tony. Best thing I've ever read that you've written

    For those who believe,
    no explanation is necessary.
    For those who do not,
    none will suffice.
