    High Tide

Only the clock tells me when to stop
    LED
    Grandfather
    Or phone
    It knows when I'm alone
I'm happy at ten to two
    But it follows
    All day and night
    Ticking
    And fu cking tocking
    I can't sleep
    It gets louder at night
    Slows the shadows
    Illuminates what's lost
    Softly stretches the skin
    Whilst it's ticking
    And fu cking tocking
    And grinning
    And Monday becomes winter.
    And Tuesday becomes
    Five years time.

I escape for a year or a day
    To the sea
    Hey you when's high tide?
    It was 8.03.
    I bury myself in sand,
    I'm late
    I watch the waves approach
    And wait.
