    The Visitors

    Someone you've loved -
and who dearly loved you -
journey here has come to it's end..
there are veils of time and space
    to pass through
    to where
    you'll both be united again.
They come to know through these rites,
    what you simply cannot -
    perhaps which you hope for,
    but dare not believe
    and so as they go
    sometimes they let you know
    not to worry,
    to put you at ease.
    You go to sleep, broken-hearted
    and they are there
    young and healthy,
    well dressed, fine hair
    bright-eyed
    and basking in playful charm,
    so you should feel
    no cause for alarm.
They won't tell you all that
    passing reveals
    the Universe's secrets
    and how much they transcend
    anything we suspect,
    or espouse,
    or reject...
    ...only that
    this isn't the end.
    It's far greater than religion,
    than science
    or chance -
and the design of it all
    is not to know...
    to come and
    indulge in earthly delights
    and earthly pain
    you see,
    and so...
between the here and the after
    they spend a while
to, through your grief, tempt laughter
    or at least a smile
    and before you wake up,
with balm on your heart's wound
    they make it clear -
    not now,
    but soon.

Very well worded and much enjoyed.
    it may never try
but when it does it sigh
    it is just that
    good
    it fly
