    RIP Ciro Pessoa

Ciro Pessoa died this morning, victim of Covid-19 like Aldir Blanc. He was one of the founders of one of Brazil´s best Rock Bands, Os Titãns and later of Cabine C before embarking on a solo career.

More condolences so soon (Much better bio)

From S.P.... I wouldn't have thought Goth music would have an audience in Brasil. I did a little digging and found his blog that might interest you: https://mantraman.wordpress.com/

    English: https://translate.google.com/transla...le&prev=search

Sampled his music: enjoyed. He used a lot of gated reverb in his productions https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gated_reverb

    Favorites (so far):
cabine c : jardim das gueixas
cabine c : a queda do solar de usher
cabine c : opus 2... enjoyed the bass work complementing the drum.
cabine c : tão perto... enjoyed the guitar intro and effects, and his understated vocals reaching a crescendo
    .
    .
    All the best,
    be safe in S.P..

    Ta ! (short for tarradiddle),

Thanks for the blog, that was again a find, tailor. Besides it biographical content, one gets a glimpse of the Brazilian rock scene in the eighties, in Rio and S. Paulo. I suppose, one important outcome of it is the Rock in Rio festival.

Thanks also for the thoughtful wiki on Gated reverb, I didn´t know what that was.

I´m glad you enjoyed the music, I liked it´s full albeit dark sound which doesn´t depend so much on lyrics as the expressive "Fall of the House of Usher". Poe seems to have been a reference to Goth music. And yes we had some of them here too, about twenty-fifteen years ago there were all those kids clad in black.
