    RIP Aldir Blanc

Aldir Blanc, 73, one of the greatest Brazilian composer of lyrics died today of Corona.

"Meu coração tropical está coberto de neve mas
Ferve em seu cofre gelado, a voz vibra e a mão escreve: Mar"

(My tropical heart is covered with snow but

It burns in its icy chest, the voice vibrates, the hand spells: Sea"
    Aldir Blanc (1946-2020)
"I seemed to have sensed also from an early age that some of my experiences as a reader would change me more as a person than would many an event in the world where I sat and read. "

Sorry to hear... I will look up his bio and works in depth later. Has the COVID-19 virus reached its peak for this season in Brasil yet ?

    Thanks, tailor.
Unfortunately I didn´t find anything in English. I will try to translate one of the song lyrics to give at least one idea of them.

Seems we are heading to the peak this month. The information we have is not so definitive because there were many numerical understatements. Anyway in many states the hospitals are on the limit or crowded.

An emblematic message (I mean the picture):

    How is quarantine in California?

Found a translation of "The drunk and the tightrope walker:

"The Drunk and the Tightrope Walker
    Evening fell like a bridge
A drunk wearing a funeral suit reminded me of Chaplin’s tramp
The moon, like a brothel madam
begged from each cold star a rented shine

And clouds, up there in the blotting paper of the sky
sucked on tortured stains, what crazy agony

"Stay in place" is causing an uproar in the California State Capital. Locals are complaining about outsiders and their disregard for order and civility (a common theme otherwise). Me, I go about my usual business, with a mask, respecting others' space... the only difference I guess for me is the mask is real and not transcendental.

Interesting lyrics... I liked especially: "The moon, like a brothel madam begged from each cold star a rented shine"..."Hope dances on the tightrope with an umbrella And with each step on this rope you can hurt yourself"... all too true. Beautiful song.

Found another bio for him... Wikipedia's was much too sparse for such an artist: https://www.allmusic.com/artist/aldi...4587/biography

    Warm thanks, tailor.

That was the kind of bio I was looking for. All these refined artists 20C are disappearing. The 21C didn´t bring nothing that was nearly similar to them.

(I still experience the classical posting and editing difficulties, therefore sometimes double and separate posts).

Lol! Transcendental masks aren´t much of a hit these days!I guess it is not so crowded where you live and you have your own place to go around. But one has to bear in mind how treacherous this particular virus is. And also, the whole thing seems unreal, TV virus, as long as one doesn´t know anyone, who is affected personally.
    Stay all safe!
