Thats why I shiver with trepidation when opening one of Aimus' PMs . . . . I think to myself - Is he unfairly using any nuclear reactors or brainwave machines on me at the moment?Originally Posted by kathycf

Interview With Pendragon
Forum questions
~How are you today?
Today I am feeling my usual self, a little nervous and touchy, but OK.
~What is your (user) name?
Pendragon. David Pendragon. (Flaming, not cold!)
~How did you decide on your username?
My favorite two Pseudonyms (Blade & Raven) were taken!
~Why did you initially join the lit-net?
To talk to people about Sherlock Holmes, I am a great fan of literature dealing with the Great Detective. I have an entire bookshelf with nothing but Holmes books on it, floor to ceiling.

The friends I have made on the forum
~How long on average do you daily spend on the litnet?
Hummmm. At least a couple hours.
Personal Questions

Presently, the ripe old age of 45.
~How would you describe yourself, your personality?
I am the Mad Poet, remember? I'm moody, but usually good for a laugh or two.
~What do you do in real life?
Unfortunately, I'm disabled. Not unable, disabled. Big difference there. I write short fiction and poetry with fair success, which means I have been published, but not in anything any of you are likely to read. I've made a whopping $85 out of more than 150 poems and more than 27 short stories. So I'm not in it for the money!
~Now tell us about your hobbies. What you do in your spare time?
Write, mess with graphic programs, repair computers
~What got you so interested in comic books? (suggested by Robinhood)
Well, I'm also an artist, an back in the seventies as a teenager, I actually made money by drawing superheroes onto tee-shirts with permanent markers. I still have a large database of superhero images, and besides, I've lived in a dream world for most of my life, so why stop now? LOL.
~Do you like sports, if so do you play sports yourself?
I was great at basketball (called me Dr. Hook, for a specialized shot), until injuries and my current size sidelined me.
~Who is your inspiration?
Anyone who won't quit despite the hand fate deals them. Stephen Hawkins is a great example.
~When did you start being so creative? I mean all your poems and brilliant birthday sonnets, when did you start writing them?
Grade school. Not bragging, I just always found it easy to write, maybe because I read university level before grade 3.

~And your favorite book?
The Hound of the Baskervilles

These interviews are so informative. You get to know so much about the person.
Yes, I love these interviews, it's torture waiting for the next....p.s. I sent a PM but I nominate Virgil for the next interview!

If I may ask, are you in a wheelchair? I got to meet an amazing group of people who played wheelchair basketball. Their disabilities ranged from amputee to paralized from the chest down. The had such inspiring determination that it was a privilage to meet them. Maybe there's an organization where you live.Originally Posted by Pensive

No, Shea, I can walk fine, even hike rugged trails. I have had sevral injuries to my spine which makes moving fast enough to play almost impossible. Then, also, one of the medications I was put on for my illness packed more than 50 pounds onto me inside a month! The drug has since been pretty much blacklisted, but I'm stuck with weight I cannot loose, since it has nothing to do with diet or exercise. A 300 pound man can't move like a 220 pound one could! Both legs have been broken at least twice, but it never bothered me until this weight. I can still hit the shots, (got a goal in my driveway), but my days of running the court are over.Originally Posted by Shea

Oh yes, I love these interviews. I am so glad I have gotten to learn more about you Pen.

Good to see another interview out, and Pen was a great choice! Wow, a whole bookcase of Sherlock Holmes books!!! Are you part of a Sherlockian society too Pen? I used to know someone who did that and went off to some event in NYC every year where everyone dressed up as Holmes and Watson. I went through a period in my teen years when I read every one of the stories, and I remember with great fondness getting the chance to dress up and represent the great detective myself for a report in high school. I'll have to go dig out my well worn copy of the Holmes stories and start re-reading.![]()
