Brave New World - Huxley
Slaughterhouse-Five - Vonnegut
Falconer - Cheever
Yeah it's sitting on my shelf, just need some motivation to jump into it.
Infinite Jest I found to be terribly depressing.
See most of my library was bought at goodwill/salvation army stores or from Amazon's used section where books are as low as 1 penny. And I do actually like to reread certain books from time to time...
Anyone have any pictures of their own personal libraries?
I myself made a website in order to database my collection of fiction/lit (didnt include non fiction, of course)
...

He hangs himself in shame of the previous night's orgy. His body is slowly twisting.
Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace. Naked Lunch isnt far behind however.
Just havent gotten to it yet, shamefully. That, Player Piano, Bluebeard, Hocus Pocus and Timequake are still in queue.
Seems like others have the same feelings as me.
Slaughterhouse-Five is his masterpiece and most well known work, and it certainly is a great work of art. But having read most of his books, Sirens...
Vonnegut was the first author I really 'got into'. Of the books Ive read:
Sirens of Titan - Easily my favorite. Its sci-fi at the surface but underneath its a very touching, humanist story....
good list, I enjoyed your descriptions of each. As far as omitted novellas, Id have to include Conrad's Heart of Darkness, Camus' The Stranger or The Fall, and Don DeLillo's recent short pieces, The...
Couple of guys come to mind:
David Foster Wallace
William S Burroughs
Aldous Huxley
Don DeLillo
Why was this boring? I have it sitting on my shelf and its such a short book that Ive been meaning to read it so I was just wondering about someone else's opinion on it.`
I only started reading and collecting books in early 2010. But my collection is already up to 170 books. some highlights and favs of mine....

John O'Hara - Appointment in Samarra
and ill second Brave new World, especially the last half.
I just finished this book. I thought the last 100 pages or so were absolutely captivating. Julian English's downfall, while sort of over trivial things and nothing major, was extremely interesting....
I think it's an excellent list. I mean, for anyone to argue what should or shouldnt be on there is pretty much a waste of time, its all subjective. But its a pretty great list for a new reader on...
I just finished this book. Was the second Vonnegut book I read and I thought that it was tremendous. Just starting Sirens of Titan now.
