Happy Birthday, old litnet friend!
Another I just remembered:
Tip #299: Something that is almost infinitely improbable is actually extremely likely to happen almost immediately.
Douglas Adams gets credit for this one. :)
Reminded me of one from the book of Ron White.
Tip #297: If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. And then try to find someone who's life is giving them vodka, and have a party.
Education is not the issue. As a matter of fact, George Orwell hated intellectuals. With a passion. He believed that the last hope for humanity lay in the working class. He spent a long period of...
I was thinking that and the final scene. I am actually watching that movie right now. Eli just woke him up in the bowling ally. :)
"If you have a milkshake. And I have a milkshake. And I have a...
I ran downstairs to check the page count on this one, only to find that she beat me to it.
The Brothers Karamazov also popped into my head, as well as many other heads, it seems.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Texting (or text talk really) is simply put, the beginning of newspeak. "lol, jk, whatever other damn acronyms there are." The dehumanization of the english...
Go to the bank.
Go to the post office.
Do laundry.
Watch my old, broken down, Toyota Camry get hauled off into the sunset.
Cry as the fourth happens... I love that car.
I hang my clothes outside in the summer when it isn't raining. Unfortunately, winter at 9000 feet makes line drying a bit difficult. But, as a few have said, dryers do help with doggie hair. :)
I like this a lot. Very dark.
These two lines, however, seem a bit run on and choppy.
Overall a very meaningful and well thought out poem, in my opinion.
Keep writing!
Just replying to Vonny's post.
I do not wish to die of drugs or alcohol. I do, however, believe that Vonnegut had a point. That an alcoholic has something to give to the world that most do not. A...
For the record, I am not drunk, or in fact had a drink in many days.
That was not meant to be harsh or unkind, just observant. I call them like I see them, as they say. If I offended, I apologize....

Thank you, Hillwalker.
Yes, it is a rather depressing poem I know... *evil laugh*
First of all, that had almost nothing to do with alcohol. Just another depressing and self centering post that you seem to like to do...
Second of all, refer to my last posted poem, "Ode to...
Hello to those who remember me. I wrote this sometime in the last year. I found it in my secret notebook stash. (muahahahaha!)
Ode to alcohol
My friend when no one else will answer my call...
Drunken thought number one,
The world is a supremely fu*ked up place.
Number two,
I am a supremely fu*ked up individual.
Number three,
I didn't mean to steal your thunder there. I must have misread and thought it was the "write a haiku thread." My apologies.
You write as beautifully and dark as I remember, muse.
Jealous
Vengeful
Short tempered
Very true, so.... Was it not literature before it was written down? Or simply another story that had no worth?
Interstate Grease Monkey, What mechanics don't want you to Know~ Someone that I can't remember because I read it when I was in an auto class in high school.
Welcome to the monkey house. Kurt Vonnegut
Homer's Odyssey was only a spoken story until long after his death... And that is one of the greatest stories ever told...
Literature, in my opinion, is any jumble of words, spoken or otherwise, that have touched someone in someway. I limit it to words that have struck me a certain way or another, obviously. But who are...
