We all have our walled gardens—
Some perimeters are ankle-high,
While others jut into the sanguine sky,
Too daunting for cliff-clingers' nailbite grips.
If not brick and mortar,
Another screen may answer:
A shimmering fringe of upthrust water
Or foresty foliage—each conceals
A muddletude of sins.
