Against My Nature
Will these feelings ever fade away?
Will I always remain the same?
Guided by a wayward mind,
leading myself
to be led astray?
Like a wind that can't be named,
no direction that it stays,
leads me North, just to turn me South,
just to prove
that it can't be tamed.
Could I ever just stand my ground?
Resist myself,
tie myself down?
Instead of being blown away.
I blow away,
a leaf constantly blown around.
Do the animals ever question why?
Whatever it is they feel inside?
Ask their creator not to run or hide,
but fight,
even if they themselves die.
Could I ever be that way?
Push aside these feelings that pull away?
A tree rooted down, firm and sound,
rebelled against it's nature,
never destined to hit the ground.
