The Teaching Company has many university level lectures on dvd.
For example, I listened to an 18-lecture series on Joyce's Ulysees given by a PhD from Princeton, which was quite good, as well as lectures on many aspects of literature and history. These are not free, in fact they are quite expensive; however, many libraries buy them and they can be checked out and taken home along with booklets which present a lesson plan outline. Check with your local library. If they have these programs, then they are free.
The Teaching Company web site gives all programs which are available, the lecture scope, and the price if you want to buy them yourself or make a request for you library to purchase them.
