That's a pity but I do fully understand. I will write you a longer email in regular address. I am tied up myself with a lot of distractions. I will post a short comment in your blog. I read it last night. Poor you with the leak and the house problems - like you really need that now.

    Hi there

    Heya ,

Just dropping by to say "hi". I hope you're doing OK - pretty busy probably

I have read your thesis again, but I still can not say anything new about it - apart from the "first impressions" I already sent you. I guess I just agree If I ever get a new idea on it, you'll be the first to hear

    Take care, Sapphire.

Just checking; I see your'e still here. I just got back from shopping and picking up my glasses. OMG - hit a sale rack for Brooke....4.49 a dress and they had been 24.00 plus they had me upgrade my credit card to get 15% more off. I looked for something for Matthew but didn't like the boy things that much. I have to decide what to get him. R said a kids cd would be good. I am making a cd for Brooke and I hope to make him one, too of Disney songs. I have some cute 'character' socks I bought for him awhile ago. Maybe on the weekend I will go out to Babies R US. I love that place. On Amazon they have cool stuff for kids, too and I can have it shipped right to you. Time will tell what I come up with.

Hi Virg--Been away from the forums for awhile and thought I'd say hi. Matthew is looking so cute in your latest blog entries. Meanwhile, you're taking all the fun out of it by not allowing comments on your political blogs. Here I was, all ready to tell you that I completely agree regarding the Juan Williams thing, that I wonder why you are comparing the Republican victory to a rejoicing crocodile () and to offer honest congratulations on the recent election. Have fun with that House Majority. I actually rather like the idea of neither party having a majority in both halves of the congress. Keeps 'em working and on their toes.

    Take Care,

    L.

Hi, was reading Sapphire's page and noticed you said Matthew is almost walking. That is great! Brooke walked about 14, 15 months. How old is Matthew now? I walked at 9 months - I guess I got tired of that crawling bit and was anxious to get places on my own! haha.

Sapphire and I posted in the L thread. I hope you can add something.

I am still not feeling real well - had a sort of stomach thing earlier this week. I seem to have relapsed a bit. I was going out, but not sure I can now. I am feeling sort of dizzy, too. Maybe I have a virus.

Stones Play "Emotional Rescue" Live

by Virgil on 05-09-2013 at 09:17 PM
The big news from the new Rolling Stones tour is that they have included the song "Emotional Rescue" into their set list. You may wonder why that is such big news, especially since the song reached number three on the US charts when it came out as a single back in 1980. It’s certainly not every song that breaks the top ten. The album, also called “Emotional Rescue” broke to number one. Not bad for an album where the band doesn’t follow it up with a tour. I remember that summer it came

Mama's Finger: Update Post Operation

by Virgil on 04-17-2013 at 11:30 PM
Well, my mother had her operation on her finger Wednesday. You can read about the need in my previous blog entry. All went well. The only hangup was trying to get one of her earrings off. She was to take all jewelery off, but no matter how we tried we couldn't unclasp the right one. The nurse put tape over it, something about it getting too hot during the operation and burning her. I can't say I understand. It had no bearing on the operation.

The operation took under

Mama’s Finger

by Virgil on 04-13-2013 at 12:42 AM
Let’s start with my mother being seventy-nine. She’s a strong seventy-nine, but still she’s actually closer to her eightieth birthday than the one she just passed. She has slowed down since her hip replacement from four years ago, but still she gardens and walks, and now that my brother has been away she’s living alone. Living alone actually gives her less to do because when my brother and his wife are at her house, she cooks and cleans for them as if she was forty years old and they were teenagers.

My Thoughts on the New Pope

by Virgil on 03-18-2013 at 10:27 PM
I don't know if there are any Catholics left on Lit Net, but there still many be a person or two who might be interested in my thoughts on this subject. I wrote this for somewhere else, but I'll share.

First, it was an incredible surprise on the timing. Not much more than a couple of hours (maybe it wasn’t even that long) before the white smoke I had just finished reading a blog by a church historian on how long some of these conclaves take to come to a decision. He was
