Read whatever you like from my work, and send me a private message. Thanks. I wrote the first version. Best Wishes, Virginia
Hi, you said you are glad to read the two versions and drop a few comments two days ago. Will you please go to the new thread in general literature and sumbit a post. I will really appreciate your opinions, I think, because you said you enjoy literature. All the Best, Virginia
deleted. I am sorry I do not really understand what your stance is. You gave different views in your second and third posts. people are either for or against word for word translation, but you were being ambiguous and trying to be neutral. I never read poetry; however I enjoy the second version quite a lot.
It's from the afterword of a poetry collection called the Journals of Susanna Moodie. It's a short essay about Canadian literature, and is basically a condensation of her full length critical book Survival. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Jou...Susanna_Moodie
Hi there! I read some of your posts about contemporary poetry. Recently I read a book by Timothy Steele 'Missing Measures', which might be interesting to you. Personally I find some contemporary poetry today indistinguishable from spoken rhetoric, but there are many poets, including Timothy Steele, who write in metrical verse, or whose understanding of formal metres influence the way they write free verse. Well then, that was your first visitor message. Bye now!
