my long message to you has just disappeared!!! how frustrating. I'll return later, when time allows again (was sick, now catch up and heavens fall on my head etc). Am touched by your support, critiques etc and thank you so much. Be well high there on Scotland's hilltops!
I think there are english language mags in israel? Here's one: http://www.pw.org/content/voices_israel_0 Or there are e-mags? http://www.poetrykit.org/ezines.htm If you want any help with a selection to send just ask. Been published quite a lot of places. Put most poems on my blog and there's other stuff there about mY stuff if you want a look: http://drumsleet.blogspot.co.uk/
How interesting! where have you been published? good for you! did you receive feedbacks as well? and do you have any suggestions where I, the novice, could try my chance? no, you were not over the top with your critique, I do not always realize what's commonly accepted and what not. I made some changes in my little poem accordingly and I'm usually very grateful for any help, reaction and critique!! Have a great evening/day... !
Oh Hallaig, I'm an eternal beginner, I'm afraid, English is only my fourth language or so. However, poetry sort of 'comes to me' mainly in English (I'm writing in French as well, but less), therefore I'm always grateful you guys bare with me and even sometimes appreciate my modest efforts. Publish? not really. Some three years ago or so, an US charity anthology's publisher found my poems and took four of them for it, but the publication was so lousy, the paper, layout and cover, that it doesn't count, only adds to my frustration. But you are too kind to have wondered. Thank you. Have YOU published? for your verse is truly beautiful. And you do have a mother tongue, lucky man.
I'm in the northwoods of central US. I lost a bet with my wife, and had to wear my kilt the "true" Scottish way, if you know what I mean. Lol. Some "malfunctions" happened during the hammer throw.... girls screamed.... old women blushed.... hahaha. I may never live it down.
I enjoy your poetry very much. Thank you for sharing it with us. Its always a pleasure to meet a Scotsman. We just had our annual Highlander Games in my home town. My wife is half Scottish, half Irish. She seems to enjoy me more when I'm in a kilt, half drunk, and throwing heavy things for no good reason. Not sure why... I just own it. Haha Anyway, cheers, and thanks again.
Psst! Are you back?
