Well, I found mine of meetup.com. I actually kind of had heard of one of the founders from interviews and things, so I think that inspired me to find it maybe? Anyway...I mean, aren't you still in Asia? That would make things difficult, I would think. And you have to kind of be careful with finding a group, cause there are some really bad ones out there. I think my group is really good though. I can probably send you places that publish poetry. I can't really point you towards places that would be particularly interested in your work, but generally they want you to kind of investigate them and find out for yourself anyway.
Well, there are a lot of places that take e-mail submissions or have online submissions managers now (journals I mean). For journals, all you really have to have is a cover letter, a little bio usually, and your work. I think a lot of people would be interested in your work, since you have kind of an interesting personal story. I've just really now gotten into writing poetry, but I'm part of a workshop group here, which is great. Even if you aren't publishing at huge journals, you really should send things. A lot of magazines will even take e-mail submissions if they don't regularly if you are an international submissions. It's really more common than you think.
Hmm, I feel like you should be published somewhere. Like, not just anywhere, but somewhere really good....
You.re welcome. It's a favourite of mine. And you might like to Google his "This is just to say" and the many parodies it inspired.
