Go with what you feel sir. If you feel like writing a short story or two, then go for it. Just remember your novel is your current focus... And if the first one was accepted, then it's almost likely they will accept the 2nd, if they haven't already suggested you do.

It took something bad to happen, to wake me up... Only 40 odd years later... Ah well better late than never right?

I am putting together my own poetry book... I was supposed to be working on a book with someone else, but it fell through. So I'm on my own... 'Tis a bit scary, but like I said about the bull... It's something I've always wanted to do... This time for me, nobody else. All new work... Nothing from my past. It has to be new and fresh...

Nothing... I had few personal issues that I have had to deal with... Now I have decided to send them all to the round filing cabinet... (rubbish bin) I have given up on them. It's been a great release. I have taken the bull by the horn and become my own woman... Golly I sound like a liberationist...

Sorry dear... I'm so glad I don't do it anymore... My cousin still hasn't deleted my website, I have to get onto that. As people are still sending me emails... Hopefully he deletes it soon... Hang in there dear.

Yes... Fine thanks... The kids are doing great. It's their mum that is crazy... Hahaha.
What do the editors want to change? Can't stand when editors change things... I hear a rumour now that editors have been told to rewrite writers work... This is one reason why I am out of the business... I hated editing...

Not at all - it's good to have friends who enjoy writing. And I'm envious of your novel's success (BUT so pleased for you too).
As for formal character bios and plot diagrams, I have never found them much help personally. I much prefer to get to know the character as the story progresses, and half the fun is discovering which turn the story will take next. That's not to say I haven't headed up a few dead ends in my time, but this pen fortunately has a reverse/erase function.
